I used it!:luxhello:
I passed a couple fellow enthusiaists in a disco at the bottom, other than that I was all alone until I crossed paths with a TJ at the top delivering mail. It was a great time being alone in a storm and reflecting on life.
Thanks for the update! I like that the plate has more surface area compared to my AEV tire carriers bracket. I notice how everybody raves at how well AEV products are engineered, but I've actually found the opposite. For example, I have a shovel holder "engineered" in to my tire carrier. If I...
I've discussed it with my wife over the last year. I could get rid of my JKUR and be completely out of paymentville, but the dang thing just puts a smile on my face every time I drive it! I say keep the JKUR. The GC is just another SUV, but the JKU is one of a kind.
It's a really nice looking bumper, and the price is right too! I just wonder how the heat and AC are affected with the vent gone? It looks like it allows a little bit of air flow, but I know with the fan on high there is a major need for that air to go somewhere or it won't properly heat and...
FWIW, I've been able to go everywhere I've wanted with the stock BFG mud terrains. I did add an EMU lift to get a little under belly clearance and an arb air compressor for airing down, but the tire size has been fine. I haven't done any hardcore video worthy trails, just unimproved forest circus...
I did a REAR BUMPER AND TIRE CARRIER immediately after purchase. As a matter of fact, I removed my spare until it arrived. I have seen far too many Jeep Wranglers with bent tailgates over the years, and wanted to protect my investment. My second purchase was a Warn winch. I often travel alone...
I've been drooling over the LRA tank since I bought my JK new. I thought they had one specifically for the 12 up JK that worked with the new style exhaust? I chatted with Ben once about it, but it's been on the backburner for a while now. Sucks they're closing the store down....
Jeeps go with guns like peanut butter goes with jelly! The G-wagen was acceptable as well since some of the guns were German, but HK's should be shot out of a G-wagen (when available) to be sociably acceptable. BTW, love the disclaimer!
That makes sense. I hadn't seen it anywhere before, and I'm a pro wire jockey but I've never messed with Ham. Nice work btw, you could teach my peers a thing or two about clean installation.
My JKUR had 18/59 springs with a soft top and factory tow package. I added an AEV tire carrier/rear bumper combo, a ARB bull bar and Warn winch and the Jeep turned in to a bottoming out low rider. The rear seemed stout enough but the front was not up to the task of the heavy bull bar and winch...
Boy, oh boy am I ever guilty of that! I bought a CJ7 that had to have a 258 T-5 combo and when I got it I swapped it all out. It's tough to stay with an initial plan when you get on the forums and look at all the eye candy. I've managed to keep my JK build really basic. So far I have good...
I really like your MORE dual compressor mount. I don't believe that bracket was out yet when I bought my setup, and it makes the dual compressor a viable option for Jeeps IMO. Past installations that I've seen for the ARB dual compressor have been under the passenger seat, and that just doesn't...
I guess I don't see the point in buying a Rubicon in this case. Maybe it's just from my relatively modest income level, but it seems like a waste of money versus buying a comparable sport and building it. No offense meant.
The reason the auto's come with a 3.73 standard in a Rubicon is because the transmission is lower geared than a stick. Looking at the axle ratio alone will tell you nothing compared to the bigger picture of overall gearing.
