I was just told to start planning our Yellow Stone trip!! Never been always wanted to see it.
Rig will be our 2010 2.5 Limited Subaru OB. Tires are at the wear bars, just ordered BFG T/A Advanced Sports, basically a slightly more beefy and harder compound rubber touring tire. I put 50,000 on the...
Side note on the tall expanded metal rear trailer gate. Its a giant hit to mileage on the highway. I convinced a close friend to remove his during a trip. His mileage average jumped 4mpg and he didnt have issues holding higher speeds in big head winds. ;-)
Great for around town mow and blow gigs...
The little cummings is probably running 3rd world fuel system so probably low tech, and why the numbers are lower. J80 is heavy, and draggy beast at least mine was. I think the little 2.5 Cummings would be to small. But in a light jeep that would be interesting, but costly as pointed out.
I...
I have a wilco carrier. Bought it when they were still Hitchrack. Shipping adds substantial cost its a solid heavy piece of gear. I used it on my J80 so I could bring the 285 spare on road trips and still have room in the back. So basically I only used it in the summer, then the spare and the...
Temps for the ceramics is a good point. They need higher temps to give good brake performance. Drilled on a heavy expo type rig not ideal the drilled aspect can weaken the discs. Slotted I'm not sure what it would ever do beyond look different.
It was already a crate motor overseas. They were probably trying to encourage a US market with Nissan. But its been a long time. Cummings might be getting tired of waiting to get 2.8s off the shelf. LOL
The larger 5L was co developed with Nissan so chances are it cant be sold outside of a Titan...
Its been around for yrs. Very well known engine in the marine biz. Nissan did that Frontier teaser two yrs ago with it. They mentioned a new head in that video. Chances are it had a different head because they had to de marineize it. 2yrs later Cummings is testing the market with a crate motor...
Same here.
The Habitat is pushing 9k after tax and such. Looking at contractor caps also nice Aluminum high top runs about 3k. That might be more realistic unless my small side biz goes better than expected.
No drawer system the 6ft LB Canyon would give me a nice spot to park my mt bike under a contractor cap or tacoma habitat. Either way a cap like that and some what clean roof line shouldn't impact mileage much. The FWC guys are reporting about 25mpg with the fwc. So 28-30 shouldn't be out of the...
I was just eyeing typical chop saws on Amazon last night. They have low rpm chop saws now set up to cut metal. I was surprised and thought cool. Read some reviews sounds like they work pretty well.
I have two kids. Thinking more and more about the Canyon slt 4dr LB diesel, paired with a tacoma habitat. Add kids pipe cot bunks on the ground floor, mom and dad get the penthouse. But also watching the pu bed drawer development. Which would be really nice for locking out of sight storage, head...
The midisized rigs are the same width as my Subaru. Actually narrower than the new Pilot, highlander etc by a smidge. The F150 is a wide rig. I just took the kids to SF yesterday. Rode BART. It took two trips around the lot to find a spot we could wedge into. I had to laugh there was one full...
