I love this rig! I'm currently working on a tool bed to put on my 97 F250, mine is a single rear wheel with an Alaskan camper. My camper is wider behind the wheels so I've had to cut out a section on each side of the tool bed and box it back in to accommodate the dimensions of the Alaskan. It's...
I have an F250 PSD that used to drive me nuts with the hot vent problem so I went with a simple 15 buck 2 port valve that has a manual mechanism to run a cable to. I ran a manual choke cable through the firewall to turn it on and off. Works great total cost 25 bucks...
When I had my Palomino we did this with thick theatre (duvatine) curtains that would slid open and closed on elastic string. It did help but I end up getting reflectix also to add behind the duvatine on really cold nights and it helped a ton
You can see the end of it yes but it doesn't bother me. I used pressure treated 2x4s btw to resist rot. the platform also serves to keep the camper above water that gets in the bed, make sure your bed has drain holes in the forward end of it too.
Super easy, 4 x 8 piece of ply on top of 4- 2x4's length wise. Screw together and your done, don't even really need to cut anything.Although if your camper flares out wider behind the wheel wells just add some small extensions. I painted my platform with bedliner as well as the truck bed for...
Thanks for the kind words! We have a Kayak too but it goes in a bag when traveling, it's an inflatable advanced elements tandem and we love it but it probably wouldn't get along well with fishing hooks..
Got it back to Oakland this eve in one piece, rented a car trailer and used my winch pull it up onto the trailer using wood skids which was a bit of an adventure in itself.
Time to start modding it for prime time and paint. Pics to come!
Great rig! I just pulled the trigger today on a used utility bed myself for my 8 alaskan/F250 obs. Guy I bought it from had a camper combo in mind but never got around to it before selling his long bed for a shorty so I'll bring it to fruition on my rig!
It's a little rough and needs paint and a...
I was doing research into adding a winch behind my stock bumper and also stumbled on that thread of Bosses. I came up with a slight variation that also utilizes the exact front hitch you have on my OBS F250 PSD. I need the 2' receiver un occupied for hauling a moto off the front off my truck but...
Tomorrow begins the next phase of my rig (I need a catchier title) as I have finally found a Utility box that fits my specs! They are like hens teeth to find with the appropriate height dimensions and this one looks like a winner and it's only 2 hours away. It will still need a little surgery as...
That is a smaller foot print on the front of your rig for sure so it may be perfect, the higher you can get away with the better for ground clearance. To do projects...I've got a few myself!
Cool the dbl receivers make a very stable mount, have you test fit a bike yet? You may find it sits a bit high if its a dirt bike. My ladys KL250 which is pretty short is just the right height and my receiver exits just below the bumper.
Custom hidden winch install.
Since I use the 2' receiver for moto hauling but wanted to add a winch BEFORE I need it I finally came up with a solution that works for me. Not wanting to add the expense and more importantly weight of a big burly winch bumper I decided to add a winch to the...
Mag light mounts fit the fairlead perfectly so a few pop rivets later and enter the Stealth Winch!. There is just enough room to work the clutch and plug the remote in
