    Alaskan on a 97 F250 4x4 Diesel

Thanks! Yeah I'm digging this rig alot so far. Did you mean insulated? If so yes its very well insulated especially for a pop-up and far warmer than a canvas side rig. It has a built in furnace too and is cozy even in snow.

    Alaskan Camper Build Up

Awesome rig, I'm sure your'e getting a ton of enjoyment out of it! Before I signed up on this forum I read you build and it even inspired me to get a used Alaskan. Mines a 2000 8'cabover which rides on a 97 PSD 4x4. Anyways I just discovered an easy way of filing the gap between the 2 piece rear...

    Alaskan on a 97 F250 4x4 Diesel

After cutting it to size I realized it needed a bit of a shim to clear the screen door behind it. Nothing a piece of 1/4 ply wouldn't solve. Painted the plywood shim black and fastened it all down and viola no more annoying gap!

    Alaskan on a 97 F250 4x4 Diesel

Upper door gap design issue FIXED! Just thought I'd share another cheap simple mod that solves an issue with there being a gap between the upper and lower doors. The issue not only lets out of bit of heat but also lets in a fair amount of dust since it's the rear of the camper where all the...

    Alaskan on a 97 F250 4x4 Diesel

Dialed the final touch on the removable front wall on the cabover bed. Detachable bug screen. We'll see how it works in action but I ended up using magnetic tape on the camper wall over the bed opening and side walls then I fixed a steel strip to the bug screen with gorilla tape. To put it in...

    Tc650 owners-Tundra/Silverado/f150?

I haven't read the whole thread but will relate my experience with a Palomino B1200 on a 2003 Tundra. I bought the whole rig as a package for a great deal but had reservations about the stoutness of the truck handling the camper from the start but the deal would allow me to sell the truck on...

    Alaskan on a 97 F250 4x4 Diesel

Had a nice get away for a dual sport ride with some buddies in the Stanislaus forest last weekend and got to check out a few of the latest gizmos and upgrades. Scored a great camp next to the creek in the pics and took an immediate dip of course. The hot shower was amazing after a hot dusty day...

Home brewed folding rear motorcycle carrier

Thank you sir, with all the reinforcing it's about 80-100 pounds. Yeah the porch/step function was important for us and our dogs to be able to easily access the camper without fumbling over a typical moto carrier. Back up cam is waaaay key too!

Happijac or Torklift for a 10 foot Alaskan cabover on a RAM 3500 with crewcab?

I ran the Torklift frame mounted set-up on my last truck 99 F250 and even though the info I read prior to purchase stated they did not hamper ground clearance they definitely did. The out rigger type attachment points for the chains stuck out quite a bit and I was concerned about catching em on...

    Alaskan on a 97 F250 4x4 Diesel

The cheap kind! We'll see how it holds up but so far so good. It fired right up with no issues out of the box and fits in one of the campers cabinets perfectly. The only gripe is the threads for the gas line required a special adapter since it came with "G1/2" threads which are a euro thing and...

    Alaskan on a 97 F250 4x4 Diesel

Tested my outdoor shower with tankless hot water heater today, man this is gonna be sweet next trip! I feed it with the the existing water line from the outside shower and run a QD off the propane tank, it sets up in minutes. I also have a small 12v pump that can draw water from a stream, lake...

Alaskan Camper removable front wall over cab finally becomes reality!

I definitely like the idea of retaining the hard (and insulated) sides after camping in sub 20 deg weather in my last canvas side rig ...BRRRrrrr
