Sounds like you two are having a great time, glad to see you're rolling with the punches! Good to know about the fridge. I have a 3 way norcold N300 that seems to be doing the exact thing yours was. I'll be scrubbing out the burner tube as well. Enjoy!
Ouch! Looks like the combo of the flexing and weight of the camper are taking their toll. It doesn't look like the bed rails are strong enough to handle the stress you're putting on em and need reinforcement. Maybe some kind of big steel L brackets/gussets in the rear section of your bed would...
Thanks!
So I have some plans to use the driver side boxes for specific items.. the rear box that is a bit smaller after cutting will house my tankless water heater which fits nicely and is in good proximity to the gas and water lines I'll use. I picked up some water inlets and out lets to...
Thanks for all the encouragement guys! Had it out last weekend for a mellow weekend with the lady and our dogs at east park reservoir in Mendocino forest..took the extra scenic route home.
Thanks guys. I thinned the paint with mineral spirits and used about 30% ms.
I also wet sanded with 800 after every 2 coats. To get into the areas a roller wont reach a just used the rattle can version of this paint and blended into it.
I didnt want to spend a pile of cash
on a paint job thats...
Hard to tell if anyones paying attention but I've started painting, I had a bunch of old decrepit paint and rust to remove, body work and holes to weld up etc but it's starting to look really good now. Im going to do the top of the bed rails and inside of bed with black Monstaliner. The door...
Also pulled the camper off today and dropped it into the bed for a mock up before paint to make sure all my measurements were correct.
There was definitely a drum roll in the air as we got set up to lower the camper into the bed to see if it all played together nicely. I was unsure if the jack...
It's been awhile since I've got around to any updates but I've gotten a good amount done on the utility bed. Rear sections are welded, sealed up and primed now and it's just down to a bit of body work and paint. Got a couple of the busted door hinges repaired too.
I used 3/4 by 1/8 angle stock...
The intake filter on the intake pictured looks just like the wix I put on the 99 but I used the stock throat and just clamped to that with a pvc adapter/reducer, seemed to work fine. What don't you like about K&N? Just curious..
Nice truck! My previous rig was a 99 psd and I will say after a trip to baja through lots of sand the most annoying shortfall was the air intake. The design of it draws its air from the wheel well and it basically throws dirt and sand down its own throat. I constantly had to open up the air box...
