Inflation is a factor too. Our entire economy got inflated quite a bit this year between COVID related money printing and cheap interest rates.
But yes, in some cases used things are worth more then new... it takes 8+ months to get equipment in some cases right now.
It's a $40-45k 4Runner with, I am guessing, $25-35k worth of bolt-ons at full, max retail. I'd be shocked if he had more than $80k into it, and $80k is assuming he's a moron who doesn't know how to shop around.
Even if you count the labor required to install all of those goodies, which DOES...
Long bed what? Toppers are not just generic lengths that fit all vehicles, the width, cab angle and contours all come into play.
Looks like a Chevy. It likely only fits Chevy's for specific model years. I would elaborate on your ad if you want to sell.
I emailed this clown with a polite ******. He really thinks it is worth that. He's out of his damn mind.
Anyone spending $110k on an overland vehicle is NOT buying a Toyota.
I've had my Grandby shell for a bit now and am not super impressed with it. I give them a "meh" rating. Maybe it's because I have the shell model but frankly I'd much rather have my truck-bed back and just get a GFC or an AT Atlas - something simple that pops up with a bed. The FWC, as a...

Sorry but I have to...
It's "Sawzall" which is a proprietary and likely trademarked name by the company Milwaukee for their line of reciprocating saws. More fun facts; there is nothing special about a "Sawzall" vs any other reciprocating saw.
Your build looks great, I love 1st...
It won't hold up like a welded aluminum frame. But, it'll probably be fine on gravel/washboard roads.
If you are going rock crawling, which I doubt since you have a Tundra, it would not hold up.
For modest "off-roading" just plan to go slow. Even my 800lb 4WC slows me down considerably...
170k is considered low for that truck, but that is all the more reason to sell it if there is any rust at all. You'll get good money for it I bet... then pick one up from out West. We have very little rust out here. Cleanest vehicles I have seen all come from Oregon or Washington. No rust...
I've owned a few 1st gens over the years. Love those things.
That 22RE is pretty painful on the freeway stock, I can't imagine trying to turn those tires when also weighed down with a bunch of overlanding gear.
I always wanted to stuff a 4.7 v8 out of a Tundra into one...
Wasn’t dissing them for lack of capability. It’s the lack of functionality as an actual truck... anything less than an 8’ bed is just a glorified SUV marketed to soccer moms and suburban Dads.
As for capability, you might keep up with modded Jeeps here and there but on truly difficult trails...
To me, the “paint” job is reflective of the general ownership and maintenance. Like it or not, that is a very low quality, cheap, hack job. I would expect other repairs to have been done in the same fashion, likely with inexpensive Chinese parts.
Anyone can do a lot of maintenance and keep...
By the time you purchase all the wiring, connectors, etc. you may be better off just getting a cheap lead acid deep cycle from Vato Zone. Last one I bought ran my Lance 815 just fine for two season with help of a solar setup. It was like $125.
Great trucks... but I’d wait for one that doesn’t have such a horrendous paint job. That one looks awful, like some high school kid owned it and f’d it all up.
The price is high, regardless. The T-100s do not pull Tacoma dollars. Anyone asking $11k for one of those better have like 50k or...
