    Scrubber3's long overdue build thread

So, to keep things rolling along..... Somewhere in the midst of all that I installed a Uniden Pro xl cb with a 5 ft whip. Mounted a hood antenna mount to the right side rain gutter and the cb to the right side of the center console. As I was doing this, I went ahead and pulled the pansie chrome...

    Valve clicking?

A mobil one filter works too. They have the valve as well. You may want to check your pcv valve just cause.

I saw this and thought "well in that case". You must be reading the snorkel wars as well.

Got it from Ebay. Stay tuned to the build thread and I will put that up too. BTW the truck looks completely different now as these pictures were taken in Nov of 09.

    Scrubber3's long overdue build thread

So this is what it looked like on it's maiden voyage. A trip to Uwharrie NC for a few nights of camping with my brother. The only thing noticeable from the outside at this point was the BFG AT 31s and a torsion bar crank. Still went through Uwharrie without a single hiccup. Upon finishing...

    Scrubber3's long overdue build thread

Okay ladies I am going to make this happen one way or another and I figured since I have obtained a nice winch bumper and have a snorkel in the mail headed this way I might as well start a build thread. So here it goes..... I bought my Montero in September of 2009 from a dinky little used car...

    Eurosonic's Montero 2.5Gen Build Thread

I got the bumper, welder, an H3 skid plate, and some metal plates for 200 bucks. SCORE!!! Although I did have to weld a couple spots and clean up/ paint the bumper though. I helped the guy strip his xj after he rolled it and he gave me the deal. I gotta do the rear sometime soon. Probably going...

    Eurosonic's Montero 2.5Gen Build Thread

I have already cut those brackets down half way. Probably have to cut another 3-4 inches off though. It's gonna sit high indeed.

    Eurosonic's Montero 2.5Gen Build Thread

I have a logan's winch bumper designed for an xj that I am working on installing this week. Looks like it will be a bit more to do to it than your ARB though. Good thing I landed some scrap steel plates and a welder this weekend. AAANNNNDDDD my Giants won the Super Bowl!! pretty fine weekend for...

    Silverwulf's 99 Montero GenII.5 build

I just got done replacing both of mine. No leaks whatsoever now. (knock on wood) Passenger side cam seal was leaking when I got it. Fixed that last year. I'll be dog on the first of this year, the oil line was leaking.

I can't for the life of me replace a freakin' headlight bulb!

Lining it up correctly is very important. There should be no play at all. It should be as snug as a bug in a rug. It may help to get the bulb and ring installed before you hook the harness to it. That can make it a whole lot easier.

    Silverwulf's 99 Montero GenII.5 build

A few places it could be leaking from that are common on these are the cam seals and the oil cooler lines. I'm not too sure if the rear main is prone to leaking. Good luck finding the leak though.

Shopping Gen 2.5 vs Gen 3 Monty

Yeah, you really can't go wrong with either one. Just personal preference. The gen 2.5 is available with a rear locker, ladder frame, solid rear axle, metal bumpers, you can lift them easier, fit bigger tires with minimal modifications, but the Gen 3 from what I understand is a more refined...

More goodies for mu gen II.5!

Yeah, I love my Rifle Mosin. Most sold as surplus stock do have matching serial numbers. I may end up doing the bolt bend down mod and applying a scope to it since mine is so accurate. I'd rather use this than my AR. Hard to beat the power of these rounds. Love the smell too. Ya'll be sure to...

More goodies for mu gen II.5!

Yeah, I love the bayonet on these too. A booger to take off if you put it on really tight though. I try to keep mine off unless I need it. Which hasn't happened yet. :) I got lucky with mine as it is an exceptionally well kept rifle even for having served the Red Army in their faction against...

    SOFpirate's 1996 Montero LS buildthread.

Nah, you still need a plasma cutter, mandrel bender, chop saw, torch, this, that, and the other.... Though a welder and a reciprocating saw when used with a drill and nuts/ bolts works wonders. I will be buying a MIG very soon.

More goodies for mu gen II.5!

Yeah, I like My AR. It's pretty well decked out. I also have a Mosin Nagant 7.62x54 bolt action. This was used in WW2 by the Russian Red Army. Build date 1939 in Tula plant. This is by far my favorite. 5 round shot groups from 60 meters fit in a nickel with iron sights. It will shoot through...
