We were at Usal beach in mid April and the campground there was so torn up we decided not to stay. I stead we headed up Usal rd. to Shelter Cove. This took us about 5 hours because the road way so muddy (this included about two hours to pull out one of our vehicles with a mechanical advantage...

Very nice 40. I have just bought my 1st 40 and can only hope it will ever look like yours. It looks like the perfect amount of usable upgrades without going overboard. I live in Marin and would love to see your rig in person some time. Any other photos or info on upgrades?

I don't know much about smog parts but i know for sure the smog pump is missing.

I just bought a 78 fj40 and hope to do most of the repairs needed myself but am also looking for a LC guru in the San Francisco bay area for a go to guy. Also looking for local portal members to meet up with.

I just bought a 78 fj40 and even though the previous owner had it "smogged" and it is registered now it is missing the smog parts. I thought I could find all the parts and get it back in shape before the next smog check but i should have read this first. Anyone have a pre 76 frame lying around...

Best brand It sounds like there are several good brands (Henessey,Eaglesnest, Clark, etc.) The Clarks look great but seem expensive. Any recommendations for a good set up with netting and fly for under $100?
