    2012 trade in value? Help.

Thank a lawyer for the door and roof sticker. Neither of which are any weaker than any other vehicle on the market, except they are removable. If the three of you can't fit into a (rather large) 4 door Wrangler, what will you buy? Trust me, I understand - I have four kids. The comment about...

    Anza-Borrego Wanderings 2012

Excellent pictures, thank you for sharing! My family has always been fond of Anza Borrego. You've captured the essence of the park that always puts a smile on our faces.

    Jeep GVWR question

Your numbers are correct. My 98 XJ originally weighed around 3100lbs, with a GVWR of 4850. The GWVR differences between XJ's probably varies on vehicle equipment. Mine now weighs in at 4080lbs with all the mods/equipment/gas, but no people. I know many XJ's are over the 5k mark with one-ton...

    Bead Balancing tires.

I enjoy being a DIY'er, and always thought knowing how to balance a tire would be a useful skill. I still think it is, but I no longer pretend I could ever out perform a dedicated tire balancing machine..:) That being said, I gave it a shot with my 35" MT/R's and learned a few lessons. All the...

JPFreek Review of 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Looks like the review was based on the experience, which didn't include long term drives or extreme testing. Simply a release of a new vehicle, with a lot of info to put out.

Yes, you can get them with the stock backspacing. 15x7's can be built with 3.75" to 5.25" backspacing and the 15x8's can go from 3.75" to 6" backspacing. Stock XJ backspacing is 5.25".

Auxiliary fans in front of the radiator?

Can you get one at the dealer? I've used Robertshaw thermostats with success over the years, and Napa carries some good stuff too. But the local dealer has the factory thermostat for around $10.

    Discount Tire ******!!!...Over

Reading the Diesel forum linked above, the failed adapters were not aluminum, but steel and a completely different design than the Spidertrax adapters being discussed here. On a side note, cut apart an old unit bearing sometime, study the design, calculate the forces we put them through on a...

    Discount Tire ******!!!...Over

You assume that these wheel spacers were not designed by engineers? I can't verify that either, so I guess that's up the air. Your other issues with aluminum can apply to other aluminum products such as wheels, and there seems to be no issue with a properly designed wheels. Some are better than...

I've had a few requests for a side shot of the Early Wheel steelies. This is the 15x8" smooth center wheel with a 35" tire.

    Discount Tire ******!!!...Over

My local Discount spotted my Spidertrax spacers and mentioned to me that 'at least you have the good spacers' and they had no problems working on it. I can't see how a quality aluminum spacer(installed correctly) runs a greater risk of failure than a quality aluminum wheel or any other type of...

Auxiliary fans in front of the radiator?

You definitely have a cooling problem with your current setup. Summer temps here hit 120 and both my Cherokees run 210-215 at the hottest. One thing mentioned above is worth noting...the auto trans adds a LOT of heat with the factory trans cooler in the radiator. Both my XJ's have identical...

Early Wheel Company, http://www.earlywheel.com/index.html They are the 'Smooth Center' wheels. Mine are 15x8" with 4" backspacing. They're built to order and you can select which backspacing you need. I initially wanted a set of steelies from Stockton Wheel, but read too many horror stories...

    Post Pic's of your Jeep

First post here, but I've enjoyed this site for some time. Here's my primary offroad/family excursion vehicle, my 98 Cherokee. Many mods and miles traveled, it started being built for the rocks, modified for more speed in the desert, but has always been daily driver capable and mega reliable...
