I was amazed that it sold at that price and wondered if they were pressured to have a reserve that low. Expedition vehicles and especially conversions tend to do poorly on BAT. Most end in RNM. Not trying to scare you off, just saying I would only do it if they let you set the reserve where you...
I will never understand these companies (there are several) that did these HMMWV camper conversions with typical van life "live, laugh, love" interiors that will rattle apart with any prolonged off-roading. Terrible platform for poorly executed interiors.
Grats on finding love again. IMHO, this is the GOAT of ambulance conversions. Projects are rarely finished- is there anything that you'd still tweak if you were keeping it?
What's the current curb weight and total GVWR? Do you mean it's parked on an angle and the ambulance body is squatting to maintain level inside? Some underside shots of the running gear, suspension, and the conversion would be appreciated.
Hi Fuso brain trust- I'm going to be looking at a couple of 2007 Fusos this month (4.9l with manual trans). I know how to do a basic inspection of a used car/truck, but diesel COEs are new to me. Are there any specifics to watch for when going over these things? Quirky Fuso things that can bite...
Did you say "Super 60s" front and rear? What's your curb weight fully loaded? Looking forward to hearing how much of a difference you perceive when you test it with the old "butt dyno" on your first drive after the swap.
There would be more interest if you had a price listed and followed the rules of the forum. Putting a price on it and posting it in the "For sale by member" section will get a lot more views.
Believe it. 2022 prices were insane and hardly anybody has the free time to hit the road that we had back then. The market is what it is and buyers and sellers often seem miles apart. I'm not singling out this offering, which I think is completely fair, I'm just saying that sellers need to be...
Great rig. It's refreshing to see a grounded seller that understands what they're selling and what the market will bear. GLWTS. I'd be all over this if I wasn't knee deep in my son's build.
Any updates? This thread has been very helpful/educational. Mainly in that it has me very wary of trying to go the used Euro firetruck route without doing a LOT more research and developing service/supplier contacts in Europe.
Yes! That SS is more in line with what I was picturing- it just looks right. I've been baffled at the lack of overlanders based off of these Cummins 5.9 trucks and all of the differently branded variants, but it's probably down to how rare the 4x4 equipped trucks are. I'd take this over an LMTV...
