some poser shots of my little fire road excursion :
huge increase in articulation with the daystar airbag cradles. really let the rear end loose.
On fire roads and mild whoops that i played in, the bags had no noticeable increase in noise from my already clanking truck (mostly the high lift in the bed and my hitch that i forgot to take off)
Cradle captured the airbag without incident every time i checked on it.

HUGE difference with the Auburn Limited Slip. with nannies turned off.
I'm sure you guys know how to do this but here it is anyway- truck running, in neutral. Push traction control button once quickly, then again but hold it down for a few seconds. you will see a few lights kick on at dash. Now your nannies are off till you shut the truck down, it then resets and you have to do it again. No VSC or Traction Control.
Truck will now power slide at will, any throttle, thru corners. WAY MORE FUN!!!! downside- going to go thru tires much quicker :sombrero:

Looks good! I'd keep a close eye on the inside/front of those bags. They look pretty interesting stuffed up there. I'm jealous that the bags have internal bump stops. I have wanted to run air bags and cradles, but none of the air bags I've used ever had internal bumps. So running at low pressure means a very harsh/potential damaging bottom out.
What fueled the decision to run a clutch based limited slip vs the true trac? I keep thinking ARBs front and rear when I get a supercharged Tacoma but I HATE driving with an open diff. Sure would be more fun 98% of the time with a limited slip rear (should have plenty of traction with a FWC in back) and air locker up front...

to early to tell for sure. Gears have to be broken in before i will hit the throttle hard or tow.
But.... so far it is very nice. It is not a drastic change but noticeable. Which, i think, is best. 4.30 to 4.88 is only a small jump. Perfect for tire sizing from 34"- 37" and multi use. If i was building an off-road/crawler id want a lower gear set like 5.29, but a rig that sees the highway- 4.88 seems to be perfect so far. The motor/trans seem to be shifting at the right time and RPM at highway speeds (75mph) is <2500. so its still cruising nice.
As Redline stated. Our choices on carriers for the 10.5 Tundy rear are limited. ARB selectable or the Auburn Pro LS. No detroit out yet, though i have heard rumors- for a could years- that it may be in the works.
I couldn't wait any longer, could not stand the open rear and lack of traction. Didn't want to run Selectable in rear cuz i live in snow country and the Limited Slip offers traction advantages every mile your driving, not just when you flip the Oh ******** switch.
Traveling highways, mtn. roads, lots of washboard desert and fire roads, and some nasty trails on occasion. A LS in the rear for every occasion and a front selectable locker up front to get me out of or thru the nasty. IM SOOO EXCITED!!!!!

Took the sway bar off when i added the ICON suspension. It handled just as good as stock on windy roads. It does have a little sway with my camper on the truck, but i expect that. I think the trade off is worth it for a little better traction/tire contact.

Yes, correct. if you look at that bag on DS that is stuffed at articulation it is at an angle, sort of pinching more at the front of the bag. It is due to the angle of the u-bolt plate that my cradle plate is sitting on. It has an angle built into it, whey the company added that angle i do not know. But seeing how it is affecting the bag, i am probably going to take the plate off, cut it down to level it and reweld it up, reinstall. Then it will compress the bag uniformly.

on the internal bumps and my bags. no idea how well they work aside from this-
I have bottomed them out over the last few years numerous times with 0 air in the bags. They are still holding air. I expect the abuse i am giving them IS causing unintended wear, and i will have to replace them at some point cause i am abusing them. Hope its not at an inconvenient time. Cool thing is now, if i change bags it will not matter what set i use as the cradles/cradle base i made, will now fit any bag setup.
Bumpstop when i hit them- its a harsh bottom, certainly no hydraulic bump like i am running on my crawler
If i was ************ i would add a hydraulic bump to my setup to give me a nice plush full compression hit absorption :drool:Similar threads
