Mine came with the bung for the fuel feed. My filler is not OEM but I might be picking up an OEM one for the restrictor. Please post a picture of yours when you get it.
No problem. I'll be posting up a bunch more pictures as the install progresses.

Not That Theres Anything Wrong With That.

Remember the Seinfeld episode about gays?

Next time your in town I need to see if the 80 series and 100 series use the same size switches.

I do remember that episode, I just didn't put the two together. :coffeedrink:

No problem, I will be around this coming weekend both Saturday and Sunday.

I'm still looking for one like locrwln's with the built in gauge. QUOTE]

Yes, I'm going with a transfer system. Not being the brightest bulb on the tree I thought KISS would be the best way.

As I mention the tank has and internal pump so no Aux pump to deal with.

That is why I like the switch I have, it is simple and contains both the on/off pump control and fuel guage. I need KISS with anything relating to electrical.

The in-line filter is a great idea. I was going to avoid removing the sending unit and internal pump if possible and who know what kind of crud is in the tank without inspecting it? A filter could prevent a lot of heartburn down the road.

I will also have a factory dual filler neck, I haven't seen it yet. The drawings don't look like there is a place to connect a hose from the pump. Did yours come with the pump connection or was it something you added?

Dan,
The OEM fuel pumps have a integral filter 'sock'. IIWY as long as you have the tank on your bench and its empty I'd check the internal filter and/or sediment, etc. inside the tank if you already suspect it...

After I posted that I started obsessing about it. I wanted to measure the sending unit resistance range anyway so I pulled it out and looked inside. The seals look like they will be fine to re-use so I'll pull the pump unit and check everything else out.

Any idea if Reno Radiator still does fuel tank flushes?

BTW the sending unit is pretty trashed (film at 11). I suspect the tank was run empty most of the time and the float wiper flopped up and down on the wire wound resistor core quite a bit. I'm not sure how I will address that issue.

That did inspire me to do a rigorous job with the tank prep though. It would be a royal PITA to get that thing installed, full of gas, then find a problem and have to pull it out.

In other news I think I finally drove the last nail in the filler neck ordering process. It should ship today.

Actually not as bad as some stuff I've done. The SOA on the FJ40 that turned into a two year project comes to mind.

BTW still not ARB parts from Oz, no idea when I'll have a functioning front locker in the 100 again.

That really sucks about the lack of parts from and for your ARB locker. How hard can it be to just have one of each part in the USA? Its not like there are hundreds of parts to their lockers. Their post-sale support, from my previous experiences, has been fantastic. Sorry to hear they are not more motivated to get the part stateside for you!!!

X2 on the ARB/OME US support. Hell, I had a real person, on the phone giving me some little help here and there when I did my suspension upgrade and they even took back mis-ordered/unused parts for me that I didn't order from them and sent me a check for re-imbursment directly... Sorry to hear about your bad experience.

The Dual tanks sounds like such a sweet option for your 100. All the 70's in Australia I drove had them as well, and it sure was cool to throw a switch and more then double my range. I sure wish I had that option in my curent truck eh.

Hope your locker sitch get's resolved quickly mate.

Cheers

I've always had good support from ARB as well, they even sent me the special tool I need for my old style ARB lockers free.

I'm sure if I started bugging them the matter would be resolved fairly fast, as it is I really don't need the locker very often so NBD.

Yeah but now is the time to get it fixed...before the snow melts and the mud dries up :).

The filler neck is here, very good quality.
I'll try to post some pictures later.
I managed to salvage the sending unit by clearing the shorts with an Exacto knife. Using a micro scope here at work helped a lot.
