100W Portable kit on ebay

In theory one of those panels will charge your battery back up. The reality is it will take too long. Assuming your Rubicon battery is roughly 75 Ah and you run it down 80% you need to put 60 Ah back in. One of these panels is 50 watts, that's about 2.8 amps in full sun so it would take 21 hours of full sun to recharge your battery. That's about 5 days in most parts of the country.
Will it keep your battery from dying as fast when charging your phone and listening to the radio? Yes, it would work quite well for that.

Thank You. But aren't these panels actually 120watt instead of 50? Even if I cut that calculation in half, 2.5 days of charging still isn't a good option for me..

I think I could wait a day or two to charge my battery if I needed to. Better than a 20 mile hike.
Actually it is possible that it may charge up faster if you follow the sun. I have taken my house batteries from very low to full in a few hours charging. I think you could recover fairly fast from 10 volts to enough to start a vehicle with a days patience.

My 100 watt and dead 10.2 battery charged up to 12.4 in 6 hours. If I was stranded with a dead battery I would use solar just enough to get the vehicle running and leave it running till charged.

Looking at the 120 Watt set up and have discovered that Solar Blvd is a few miles from me so I can just pick the kit up. Everyone who has purchased these kits still happy?

Thanks

I am on the verge of selling off my Goal Zero Boulder 30's and tripod and going to this setup. The 100watt panels now appear to be back in stock and they are listing a 160watt kit for $249. Not bad. I did speak with rep at Solar Blvd and they confirmed that the onboard controller can be bypassed easily if you care to use an existing controller. Since I have a need for power to both my trailer and truck, I might do the 120 watt kit and run one panel to the trailer and one to the truck. Don't know. Does anyone know if they are weatherproof (rain/snow)?

Yes I am, very happy with my 100 watt one.
I am ordering a 20 watt one here soon, and using a charge controller I bought long ago.
This will be going into my Bobcat Toolcat at work, as it often does not get run enough to keep the battery topped off.
This will be hooked up full time to the Toolcat except when operating it of course.

I am pretty new to all of this, but I am thinking about getting one of these and connecting it to an Arkpak portable power pack. It seems like this blows a Goal Zero Boulder 30 panel out of the water. Am I missing something? It seems too simple.

It is perfect for using with the ArkPak, that is what I bought mine for.
My pics were missing earlier, folder did not gt moved to the new server a few weeks back, just re-uploaded them a few minutes ago, and they are in this thread again showing.
I would go for either the 100 watt one I bought (it is back in stock again) or go for the 120 watt one.
Either will work fine with the ArkPak.

I think the last price on the 120 watt system was $195.00 when I checked a couple of days ago. I will use that price to compare any sale price.

Tech support at Solar Blvd informed me the stock charge controller is fine with an AGM battery like I have in my ArkPak.

The charge controller looks like a cheap chinese knockoff. Thats not necessarily a bad thing. Whether it holds up in the long run only time will tell.
