1989 4runner build

Picked up a 1993 4runner on Monday to use as my donor rig for the 5spd swap for $500 since it was not running, but I could tell it was an ignition problem so when got it home I just bypassed the ignition and ran a jumper wire from battery to starter and it fired up and transmission shifted good.
I borrowed a friends trailer and drove an hour to get the rig and on the way home at around 10pm one of the trailer tires blew out. Normally not an issue except this trailer has no spare, or it did, but I was not given it. Luckily the 4runner has the same bolt pattern and just a slightly smaller. Downside was the 4runner was missing all the parts to get the spare tire down. Ended up having to have my mother drive my friends truck down with a bunch of tools so we could cut the spare out and get the trailer up off the ground to fit it. Had to put the spare on backward since it had a deep backspacing, but we were able to finally get home close to 2am.

Last night I was able to pull the auto transmission out which, surprisingly only took 2 hours with a friend helping.

Tonight I should get enough time after work to be able to pull the 5spd out of the donor rig.

Finally have the rig up and running with the 5spd and everything is working great. I forgot to remove the starter relay and join the two wires together so I currently do not have blinkers, but other than that it is running great. There is so much more power compared to my other 1st gen 4runner with the 5spd. I didn't think the 3.0 was too lacking in power, but driving the same rig with the 3.4 and it feels like it has so much more power. With the 33's and 4.56 gearing I can easily get the tires to break loose at a take-off which was unheard of with the 3.0.

One thing I need to do is change the exhaust, I currently have a magnaflow and it is just too loud for my taste.

One issue I did run into was that transmission has an electric speedo sending unit and I need a cable. The hole for the sending unit is the larger style and I am unable to find a part number anywhere for the mechanical sending unit of the size bore. Only option I could come up with was to try and buy a transfercase that has the larger bore, but around here transfercases are going for $150 and I have yet to find one that has the larger bore. Does anyone know what year or model transfercases came with the large bore mechanical speed sensor? For now I purchased a garmin gps as that was cheaper then buying a whole setup just for the speed sensor.

Is your truck blue or grey? If its blue, we have the exact same truck and you're basically doing exactly what I want to do to mine. Great minds think alike!

Looks like along with not having any blinkers my front wipers also are not working. My hazards work and my headlights work with both high and low beam. Checked fuses for the wiper, and swapped in a different one even though the original one was not blown, but I still get no wipers. My only thing I can come up with is that the switches on the steering wheel are bad, but I cant believe both would go out at the same exact time. I would also think that the headlights and also the hazards would not work if the switches were the issue. Anyone have any ideas?

Well not sure what the issue was but put everything back together and fired it up and this time everything worked?! Taking it tomorrow to get registered. Ordered led lights for the interior so I can hopefully actually see something when it's dark out

My other 1st gen 4runner came with a tan sunroof cover that I kept when I sold it. I figured I could try and paint it before I purchased a grey one for $150 off ebay. Painted it last night with a grey plasti dip, turned out a little darker than the interior grey on the roof, but much better than the tan.

Replaced my rear tail lights last night. Much better than the old faded ones that were on there.

Led bulbs come today so hopefully makes a big difference in interior lighting
