2 weeks in Brazil, June 2006

Me and three friends spent 2 weeks in Brazil in June and I’ve put together a little trip report that I wanted to share with the folks here. It’s sort of a cliff notes version of how daily activities went with pics. The group was made up of me, my friend Dave from work, Brian (Wolfsoul on ExpPortal), and his wife. It was an amazing trip!! :suning:

I've broken this into three sections as you'll see and at the end of each section is a link to an image gallery with maybe a hundred pictures from that part of the trip. It was tough narrowing down the good images with over 2000 to choose from. I took 6 gigs of memory and that wasn’t near enough. :yikes:

I'm impressed with the species lists, too. Very educated. Very dorky ( ).

Dorkiness is great. I have species lists for our various trips to Africa. Glad to see I'm not the only one!!

cheers

chuck, great trip report. Sounds like an amazing, yet depressing in many respects, trip. Great pics too. That jaguar staring at you, deciding whether the bunch of you would make a tasty treat or not, is impressive.

thanks for sharing,

jeff

Great report Chuck! Thanks so much for posting the link.

The Jag images were incredible. What a thrill that must have been.

Chuck, I am still working on it all... it's a real treat to be savored. The pics and all of the animals and trees and... That pic Mark linked to is amazing... and yes, the eyes of that cat... awesome.

Chuck,

I finally had a chance to read through it all. Man, what an adventure! You saw a LOT of cool places and critters. The sloth--just plain weird, man! Same for the capybaras! The jaguar--just plain AWESOME! Piranha soup? That's a new one! "We were really lucky to have a couple rhinoceros beetles fly in." "Lucky" might not have been the word I would've used had I been there. Good grief, those things are huge! So much cool stuff in there. Thanks for sharing! Glad you got back home okay.

Wow!! What an awesome journey/adventure!! How very cool that you got to see and smell and hear and experience all those great critters in their natural environment. I mean a jaguar by the side of the river!!!

Great trip report, truly fascinating.

Thanks and glad you got home ok! :yikes:
