These bumpers are looking great. My '02 was totaled and I just picked up an '06. I'm waiting on a timing belt/water pump and then a good test run. If there are sufficient funds left I'll be wanting one of these.![]()
Sorry to hear about the 02. Glad your back in a newer 1st gen. I kinda wish I held out for an 05-06. I just want the 5 speed auto. I have a hard time getting over 13 mpg.
Anyways. Love to get a bumper built for your 06.

Only 13?!?! I know these things are bad but I still get over 15 on the highway with my 35's. Done your 02 sensors? Cleaned your MAF? Plugs?
Try cleaning the o2 sensor as well before changing it. If it's dirty or bad the computer will mess with the air fuel mixture making for poor mpgs. I remember consistently getting 18-20mpgs in my tundra when I checked. Most of the time I would not worry because I knew i was not driving a Prius, and happy about that!
^ It's an antequated mindset. You can't actually clean them properly, and they're under $80/each, so it's a fools errand to bother trying. Guys talk about "cleaning" them by heating the sensor end with a torch, or any other number of silly ideas. Knowing the way they operate/read oxygen content in your exhaust stream you could undersand why these ideas don't work, but suffice to say, just change them. If you're over 80,000mi and they're original, you may as well. The 2 of concern are the 2 "upstream" ones. They are the ones that control how your engine operates and fuels. The ones post-cat (downstream) are simply there to ensure your emissions equipment is functioning properly. If you don't have a CEL, just change the 2 upstream ones and call it good. Also, a fresh set of plugs will do more than fresh o2 sensors, start there. Source: I'm an experienced and licensed career mechanic.
Man that truck has come a long way, it's pretty slick! Always liked the V8 Tundras! Good looking build man!

Looks good! I too love wiring, after all that work it's nice to see a light actually come on.
Yeah I know how that is! I'm going down to King of the Hammers here soon! Working on a pit crew down there so in the off time I'll be wheeling my 88 Runner!
