Oh your Tacoma is killer.

I always wanted one, so I bought one, absolutely love this truck. It is when I start comparing numbers, it makes me wonder if I made the right choice.

My buddy has a nice Chevy Sliverado, it is a little bigger, a ton more power, priced about the same, about the same mpg's that I get. Can tow more...yadda...yadda. Just makes me wonder somethimes.

Then I look at how reliable my Tacoma has been, I tell myself I made the right choice, I can forgo the other things.

A guy I work with alomost bought a brand new Tundra, he was going to pay $42K for it. I told him to get an American diesel instead, that is waaay too much money to shell out for a gas powered truck.

Not an Expo style rig, but I have lusting over this thing...crew cab version would killer! And if I owned a casino this would be my daily driver: http://www.sdhqoffroad.com/projects/proj001.asp I am kinda close to Baja and all...;)

I'd drive it any day :)

Trucks like that, is what gets me thinking...hmmm....should I get rid of the Tacoma?

My buddy's crew cab is something like that, not as wild with it's suspension. Sure is nice and roomy inside, the ride sure is sweet too, rides a heck of a lot better than my Tacoma.

Welcome to Nevadafornia
I'd much rather have a stock Tacoma than a stock one of those!

However, all said and done, I'd rather have this Tacoma than that Chevy.

I wonder what the HP per ton of a Tacoma vs Full size brand whatever truck is?

Edit: sorry to clutter up your thread with baja trucks, but heres some I found browsing TTORA

I also see our friend Jacket is over there. Looks like he recently went to Moab, pretty sweet!

Clutter away, this thread is for everything related to trucks and wheelin, not just so you guys and see me spend money on my truck :)

I like those projector style headlight on the chaos fab one in the middle.

PS - the one thing I have found with allot of the desert racing stuff, is the cold and winter destroys it. they put lots of gravel salt on the roads here and it pretty much chips and destroys the nice finish of everything.

With the PreRunner style coming from SoCal...it isn't made for the harsh winters. I am originally from Pennsylvania...I know all too well.

I am by far a Toyota guy, just putting that Chevy up there because it is Bad ASSSS!

Still, I think a stock Toyota is way under powered for Baja, you need at least 400 horse power under the hood. ;)

Here this is better for you Toyota guys... http://www.ttora.com/forum/showthread.php?t=92559

TTORA has a good Desert Race rig section. http://www.ttora.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=189

I'll be honest, I was into the Desert stuff, before the expo stuff....I was heading down that road with my Tacoma, but, I still need the Tacoma to haul and be somewhat practical. You probabaly have the same needs, eh heeltoe?

If it wasn't for dirt bikes, my truck would be prerunnered out. ;) Bikes are a heck of alot cheeper...and to an extent can be faster in the dirt.

If I lived in Cali I would certainly have one thats for sure! It looks like allot of fun blasting through the desert.

This guy appears to have his wife as his co-pilot, she never shuts up and enjoys the ride, and seems to be dictating how he should drive!

With regards to the winters in Canada..You could always move to So Cal/Arizona. :D

I would, but I like putting chains on the truck for winter wheeling :)
