txfactor - Thankfully the drama wasn't a result of my actions! I don't guess I did enough research and ended up with a winch that does not allow rotation of the controls so my freewheel switch is facing the radiator. Also, the control box for my winch only mounts on top of the winch, so I'm going to have to figure out a way to mount it otherwise since it hits the radiator if I put it on top of the winch as described.. That was the most frustrating part of the whole deal! Also, the bumper doesnt' have a place to install a Hawse fairlead for synthetic line, so I've got to figure something out for that, as well.

The fog lights just have two wires coming out of the back of them. I hate to cut my stock wiring, so would it be possible to find a pigtail with the connector that my stock fogs use to connect to the truck? I don't think they're high enough wattage to need a relay, I'll have to check though.

Weekender - I can't tell any difference in the driving dynamics. I tried to get some pics in the parking lot before I came into work but the sun was behind it and wasn't really helping - It only made it squat a tiny bit. I was a little nose-high before so I think it leveled things out pretty well. I may end up doing some suspension tweaks in the future as I didn't really intend to do this at the time I put the lift on. We'll see!

That sucks about the winch not able to mount feet forward. You may have to just suck it up and get a different winch.

As for the wiring... You gotta ask yourself if you're ever going to need the factory wiring harness (which you would be cutting off). Is the stock bumper ever going back on? I doubt it, so just cut the wires, retain control of your fog lamps with your factory switch, and call it a good day. :p

That bumper looks great on your truck! Nice job!

As for the wiring I do agree with txfactor76 about just using your factory harness but if you want it to be reversible there are a couple of ways to tap into your stock wiring without cutting it. You can use 'add-a-fuse' to tap into the fog or low-beams circuits - do use a relay though. Or you can use a 'wire tap connectors' - I prefer the posi-tap screw type connectors. It makes for a nice clean setup and you can remove it later.

duckhunter - I connected aftermarket PIAA lights to my Frontier's stock fog light harness using male H11 connectors that I found on ebay.

Life got really busy really quickly and I just realized that I never posted updated pics of the truck with the bumper and fogs installed. I snapped a few this weekend, please ignore the bugs!

I still have to install the fairlead and do a few other things, but I am very pleased with it!

That is one (top pic) of those pictures where I want to walk slow along the side with one finger on the truck to admire it.. Looks great even with the bugs!

I've said it before the bumper really flows with the lines of the truck. I like it a lot.

This is pretty much where I want my truck to be when I get out to Washington! I know that it still retains the stock tow points, but it still baffles me that they don't come with shackle mounts, but then again, when do you really need more then 1 attachment point?

I know most people would have ditched the step rails by now, but I've kept them for a few reasons - 1) I don't rock crawl, so clearance isn't an issue right now 2) I'm vertically challenged at 5'8" so I need all the help I can get washing the roof and with the roof rack 3) They protect my paint from rock chips since I'm on gravel pretty often. Sliders would do most of the same thing, but I'm not sure I want the weight and I also don't know that I'd ever really need them.

Thanks for the comments!

ARB said it all deals with the crumple zone for the front bumper. You can however find better aftermarket tow point replacements.

I don't know how effective sliders would be, but I do know the longer rocker on the frontier has kept me from going down some trails I would have loved to get to the end off.

I bought a VW Jetta TDI Saturday for all of my road trips and daily driving and will probably look for a Tahoe or Silverado to serve hunting and hauling duty. I really need something with a V8 for towing, so this would have happened eventually any how!

Heh looks like I wasn't the only one buying a new car this weekend. I'm keepin' my truck too though! :)

Your Frontier is in an immaculate shape so it should sell pretty easily. Good luck!
