A month of silence...

Fess up... You sold it and bought a Sick Tacoma and GFC didn't you?

Sorry for the delay all, life stuff getting in the way.

Not a Taco and GFC....but a Ridgeline and a CVT--you got me. :censored:

Carli/Deaver XXHD leafs went on today (finally). Pretty straightforward install without a truck bed or anything else in the way of them coming out the sides. SUCH an improved ride over the cruddy OEM leafs. And proper stance now too (bit of rear rake). Pics to come.

Now I can FINALLY get back down to HPI for them to install/seal the 4 underbed boxes and the exterior will be fairly complete for now.

Headed out with a group next month--will see how it does with a variety of different rigs in the group.

To HPI soon for install of the 4 underbelly boxes. Pics to come.
Then first very minor trip to WA to stay in it for a few days.

So far, the Carli/Deaver XXHD rear leaf springs have completely transformed the ride/handling even further (beyond what the rest of the Carli/King pintop kit already had). Very very impressed with their tuning. Does NOT feel like a ~6ton rig at all. So glad we did these before the HPI boxes go on--look at all the accessibility now!

And we got a 37" (used 37" ProComp M/T I traded for a few 6packs) in the factory spare location. With the tire deflated, it barely fits and still sits at a nice departure angle--which is interesting as the diameter of the stock spare area is only ~33", so I had to manipulate the spare tire heat shield a bit too as my shortened OEM rear exhaust has the tip sitting right there. Sure, it might not be tucked up as high as with the Carli Trophy spare tire/hitch setup, but I have ~$4500 more towards adventures. HUGE thanks again to @montypower for his YouTube video on this.

Good to hear! I was positive you traded for a RTT

Look forward to updates

Anyone remember my 12000lbs GVWR comment? Scroll up ?

But what blows me away tho is I figure it's a 1000/4000 distribution split, or 20% of the load went onto the front axle (!) and on a short box even (!!). Amazing. I reckoned you'd be far more biased to the rear which was my caution on the tire rating.

I’m guessing 30%F / 70%R

The cat scale ticket will tell the tale…

Ran into a guy at a truck dealer trying to trade in his Ford for a Tacoma so he could put a rooftop tent on it

Na, , , it looks awesome in person, even better than in the photos. A very balanced looked, with the camper looking 'lightweight' due to the angled roof IMO. That really breaks up its size on both the sides and the cab overhang. Plus the HPI flatbed looks like it could haul the space shuttle, so a very strong low look. Dang, HPI does some beautiful work! Another thing I like is the narrow front box (many 10ish inches), not too fat, tons of useful storage, and it puts the camper back just enough for a very balanced look on the wheelbase.

The 37" are almost flush (maybe 1/4ish in the front) and look great with the Carli suspension. It has a very custom/complete look with the custom radius rods and remote shocks, looking very race-like. I am also diggin' the camper inside. A very useful layout and again I like the angled roof from the inside. I'm sure that is a lot of extra work, but it sure pays off. A very solid combination.

Normally I could find a 'suggestion' or two, but I think @mk216v has hit this one out of the park!

Looking good. Have you been able to weigh the vehicle? Claimed weight of the camper is very attractive and I‘d love to see that confirmed. Have they delivered any of the second version of the camper yet?
