♫ Off road, again. Just can't wait to get...
And, with this suspension/tires setup, pickup, flatbed plus camper, What is the measurement from hard ground to highest hard point on the camper (overall height)?

And, for table to easily get it out of the way, have you thought about a retrofit similar to the OEV Hudson Bay (Formerly Camp-HBE)? I really like the way that table quickly folds up out of the way temporarily then quickly back down. Would be handy in the aterra for shower and toilet access.

Your rig looks great, bravo and congratulations!

I was super close to getting an Aterra too, but honestly, the grey fabric interior and their total inflexibility were deal killers for me, so now I'm heading down the Hallmark/Bowens route.

Hasn't gotten cold enough here yet. I think the coldest night thus far was in the low 40s, and that first night I forgot to turn the Truma heater on, whoops.

I still need to measure OAH. I'm thinking 11'?
An OEV-style flip-up-off-the-wall table was what I was originally thinking ATO would do, but no. So I have to sort out a fix as currently with the table top on the Lagun leg, one has to sit sideways on the Wrappon.

Thx Macfly. Gray fabric interior; do you mean the indoor/outdoor carpet'ish on the ceiling? Inflexibility on what, as it's not a custom camper at all. Hallmark would be custom and nicely crafted(Stormtrooper looks sweet) but personally I could never get over the jungle gym of bars inside when the top was up; Bowen looks rad too and at the time of my project wasn't released yet or else I might have gone that direction vs HPI in order to get the flatbed deck lower, although it's height is also based on the cabover height of the camper so a lower deck may not have been possible. My Aterra does have some Hallmark technology in it however to keep things light.

More custom fab being done now inside the truck cab at dog platform, and engine bay.

I hear that. Looks like in the future we may tow a loaded horse trailer, where the torque of the diesel would make that a breeze. But we're never going to be towing more than adventuring so I'll deal with slogging up mountain grades when towing, in exchange for the simplicity of the petrol V8.

OVE HBE is by far the best 4season poptop camper out there IMHO. Aterra has thinner wall construction, but has no poptop, so it can be debated which is more 4seasonable; both having Truma propane heaters.

Aterra is brilliantly designed with the use of space. So happy to hear you love your Wrappon. The dinette placement isn't ideal for doing bizness, but the only change to ATO's arrangement I'd like to have seen would be a slide-out Wrappon (into the entry way) from under the curbside dinette seat. Put the shower pan/drain embedded in the entry way floor, hang a shower curtain from the ceiling above the entry, use the entry as the potti room or shower room (*only issue with this is that you'd then have the drain for the interior shower pissing all over your entry steps, vs currently pissing out the rear lower of the camper).
In the HBE, that entry cabinet being used for either storage or half-high potti room makes sense, as where else would you put a potti in an HBE? (I'm glad they revised their shower pan in the dinette floor, so the interior shower is now usable for HBE'ers).

Weights; have a look at post 21 as I just revised the info; https://expeditionportal.com/forum/...king-37s-4-88s-etc.230131/page-2#post-2990036

Quick skinny;
-Latest weigh-in #3; 8550lbs w/ Buckstop bumper/winch/Baja lights, full 60gal tank, HPI crossframe/flatbed bare, gears/locker in boxes in rear seat area, some smaller Carli susp boxes in crossframe, me and dogs on platform (4900F/3650R). HPI's estimate to me was that total weight would be in the 900# range; flatbed ~500lbs, crossframe ~200lbs, underbody boxes 40-50lbs/ea. I'm unsure how much the stock aluminum truck bed weighs, and I don't know how I picked up 300lbs of F axle weight compared to weigh-in #2.

Camper wet is ~1250lbs.
So 8550lbs + 1250lbs camper + 200lbs 4underbed boxes = 10,000lbs with camper and 4 empty underbody boxes. Doesn't include any extra weight from Carli susp components, extra weight of 5qty 37" tires, 1 passenger, our recovery gear, camping gear, food, possible future short roof rack and 2 cargo boxes, etc etc etc. GVWR is 10,900lbs, so I'm going to be over that, even when being mindful of weights. :(

With the full install now of the HPI flatbed and the boxes, what do you estimate is the total weight on those components alone? Still about 900 lbs.?

I'm curious with the bolts and plates inside the camper for the door grab handle and the back storage rack what will happen in cold and damp.

Yep, from my data, HPI was almost dead nuts on.

The black cushy grab handle? Haven't seen any sweating yet from it or the rear accessory rack, but I'll look closer as the temps continue to drop.

How have you liked the setup with the 6.2? Considering building the same chassis up. And have a line on a clean truck. Im a fan of the 7.3 but the 6.2 just seems to do its thing. Fully built out do you see enough performance that you don’t regret going that route?

It's been treating me well, no issues, no qualms. I'm not sure I should drive a 7.3 Godzilla/10spd or then I might kick myself, but I'm still happy/confident with my decision to stick with 6.2/6spd. So far up/down hills in full Auto mode (even with 4.88s the truck likes to shift early and that results in lower rpms, which then means low throttle angle and then downshifting on its own if I need more giddy-up) my mixed fuel mileage hasn't been great; 10mpg or sometimes less, and I'm not driving like Ricky Bobby. So I need to test with Tow/Haul mode, and then also manual shifting (pressing the - on the column shifter to keep it in 5th or 4th for those grades, and then shifting up when the terrain flattens out), see if that improved mpg.

A line on a clean truck makes for lots of happy miles, so I would definitely look at that in a 6.2 vs trying to search for a clean 7.3 (of which there are probably many). I took too long to build my rig and forever missed out on many important memories with a special someone, so I would never ever do that again.

Have you recalibrated the speedo for the 37s?

With the Rams is crucial to adjust the speedo properly with bigger tires, to get the transmission shifting properly. Otherwise it shifted super early and annoying.

No idea if Fords are the same, but after getting my speedo dialed in perfectly, the transmission was much happier and normal shifting

And no more 6.2 / 6 speed for 2023. See how the new 6.8 / 10 speed does as a slimmed down 7.3 / 10 speed? Could drive demand for used 6.2 / 6 speeds as it sunsets.
