There are online practice exams you can take. The test will be 35 questions out of a possible 350 questions they can ask.
If you can't memorize answers and need to learn the material for the exam, Gordon Wests book will give some basic explanations.

I would never have bothered taking the exam unless I found out about the baufengs.

The 5R has been around a while with a large following and support. Based on the price of both it is probably not worth thinking too hard about. Maybe just get one of each.

Just ordered the 82. Testing on the 2nd of Feb. Need to study. ;-)

I just looked up all the RAM components required to mount my phone, iPad, and the radio to the dash bar and it came out to $167 before shipping :Wow1:. Looks like I'll be seeing what other options are out there and making some myself.

From a software standpoint the 82 And 5r are the same. The case and the fact that the 82 is a true 5w HT is the biggest difference
