So illegal defenders are more of a priority than illegals immigrants?

For US Customs? Yes.

Silly question, like asking why police are handing out speeding tickets while people are being murdered every day.

there is a key difference - speeding tickets and murder have no real nexus. Things coming onto our shores that don't belong do.

Your comparison does not make any sense....

Yes it does. A broken law is a broken law. When you have evidence you go after the law breaker and the things needed to prove that they actually broke the law. Same with murder. Your jaded view of government is clouding the view of reality. Law is a law.

Well that was kind of my point. I don't think that polticizing this thread by referencing the evolving humanitarian crisis on our southern borders has anything to do with what was actually a pretty good discussion. Don't we generally avoid the politic here? There's so many other places I can go for that.

. We have this statement and a Canadian speaking poorly about the American system.:

Everyone speaks poorly about the American system lol.

Unless your name is Moses, laws are not written in stone and can be changed.

Well, I suppose if you lump the plight of these refugee children and illegal importation of grey market defenders together, then yes. I actually see it as 2 very different issues.

This is not (primarily) about import compliance. This is apparently the Federal government investigating a multi-million dollar international auto theft ring.

Doesn't seem like such a waste of resources anymore, does it?

I'll keep my Gadsen flag in the drawer for another day.

Just found out a fairly well known individual who exports motors and vehicles to the US and Canada was raided yesterday AM as well in the UK.

Not my place to spread any rumor or mention names but it does show direct connection UK and US in this.

Lends credence to the international auto theft/export ring theory.

i will say again... there is more to this than non-compliant vehicles.

So it would appear. And not just the poor chaps in US suffering. Plenty of owners that had vehicles stolen in the UK also.

You have 1325 posts. You have not realized the EVERYTHING on this board, regardless of topic, devolves into 'gubment gone get us and takes away are libty"? Honestly. Fireside chat is there not avoid politics but seemingly to bash everything. The fire is the rhetoric that gets spewed. Not the figurative logs that get burned.

Cars get stolen every single day. Sometimes with people in them. It is not brand dependent. Being an LR does not make it any more or less important. If you were truly concerned about the 'poor chaps' in the UK and their stolen crapwagons, you should be all for this as bits and pieces, and sometimes the whole, seem to have come off of those 'poor chaps' trucks to be sent over here.

Nothing I said was political. Just an observation on my part.

What is Multi Million? 5 million, 8 million? That is chump change.

I think "EVERYTHING" is a little over the top.

You seem to be under the increasingly prevalent and completely misguided impression that the government is only capable of doing 1 thing at a time, and should drop everything and forget about any other laws being broken just because the one you saw on Fox News is being broken.
