A 03 Disco II Build

Great looking bumper. I like your ideas for the tailgate workspace/insert and interior storage. I'm in the process of building a recently acquired D1, thanks for the good ideas. Concerning the roof rack, I'm looking for one too, they do not come cheap. I might just buy a new Baja Rack and call it good.

Well I still haven't gotten a rack but I'm still looking. I did find a good deal on Flexi Wheel arches so I got those and finally got them installed

Haha nice! He got them from us, decided he was just going to cut his fenders and never sent them back. He's a good guy, loves to go wheeling.

Hey Everyone so Its been a while since i posted something but I have done some new things to the Rover. I went with DroverRover's suggestion on the the roof rack and got a Voyager Rack and couldn't be happier. I also went with 4 Hella 4000 up top and Hood black out to help stop some of the reflection from the lights. By the way they are insanely bright lights. I am now in the works of building a rear bumper with a swing out for a spare and jerry cans, as well as some type of custom bike rack so when I open my back door the bikes go with the door rather then having to unload them to get into my back area. I have been trying to decide the best way to build the bumper and the swing out. I figured that would get some of your opinions. I like the way I think the Safari Gard rear bumper is and the way the Hard Labor Creek rear swing away arm works with the door rather then being its own independent system. If any body has any ideas on how to do this yourself rather then just having HLC build a custom bumper I would appreciate the ideas. Now for the Bumper its self I'm thinking something similar to The second picture that I put on here. Let me Know what you think would work or could be a good idea.

This is the bumper design that I like and kinda designing off of plus adding a swing away.

what kind of terrain do you plan on wheeling. Extreme "rubicon" type trails, or Moderate trails or overlanding. the reason I ask is because The Discovery with the CDL and good suspension and tires is quite capable to conquer about 75% of wheeling that alot of us would do in a modified vehicle.

Good Looking Discovery by the way:)

Thank you. I want to be able to possibly do the rubicon at some point but also do trails out in Moab like Hells revenge. I plan on re gearing so I was just gonna do the lockers at the same time to make it easy but what does everyone think?

So I have bought my RTE lift and it should be here sometime next week or so. I now am looking for some input from somebody that is running 35's. I want to try to figure out best back spacing to fit a 35's well. I have the Flexi 50mm flares and don't mind if they are out a little I just don't want them to be sticking out from the flares to much. I read somewhere that a 4.5 or 4.25 would be good but want to here from someone who has the set up or can point me in the right direction to find out. If any one id running 35s and would like to give me some pointers I would appreciate it.

You will need upgraded axles/cv's and will want a re-gear. It'd be silly not to get lockers if you're going to be going with 35's. Plus, the weak cross-pin in the stock diff will be put under even more stress with 35's. Be prepared to break a lot of stuff if you stick with stock driveline components. Did you order the 'complete' kit from RTE? If you're lifting it enough for 35's you will need castor corrected arms and will need to deal with the watts linkage in some way. 35's on a DII are no small task

I would urge against 35s, but at least you'll find the weakest point in your drivetrain soon enough!
