Adding an outside thermometer

It's not mine, but I think it was available from 96 on and not just the Foresters.
Ebay might be the place to look. It fit right in the DIN slot, but i think its pretty deep.

Well it's a little embarrassing, but I did a super-budget temp gauge on my rig- I got one of these, and used electrical tape to attach it to my mirror pointing front to back. Easily read through the drivers window, and works as a conversation piece too. For maintenance, I simply take it off and calibrate it via the ice-water / boiling water method maybe once or twice per year. Its a budget mod (if you can even call it that) and it has worked well for many years. As an added bonus, you can use it for coking at camp!

I really like this one ! I'd like to mount one on the top of my dash.

Has anyone installed one ?

Does this kit come complete ? All wiring and sensors ?

Does the optional bezel fit on a flat surface?

How does the gray color match Toyota dash ?

My wife bought this as a Christmas gift for me about 5 years ago. I typically drive older vehicles that did not come with compass, temp, etc. It has been in 3 vehicles, and the temp is extremely accurate.

The auto-dimming is s nice touch too.

This is my favorite mod next to my heated seats.

Got my new thermometer installed on Friday, worked out well. In case anybody orders one of these - there are three wires on the back, red, green, & black. The green wire was added in case anybody wanted to hook it up to the factory dash light dimmer, or the other option is to simply twist it together with the red wire and hit it with a switched 12V+, black wire is the ground. The instructions failed to mention what the green wire was for. I put the sensor at the corner of my driver's side fender, where it meets the windshield - seems to work good there so far......

Poly Performance sells Nordskog digital gauges in amber. I've been considering adding the outside air and voltmeter gauges to my overhead.

I'm not normally a fan of digital, but I think for air temp and voltmeter it's perfect.
