Sorry to hear about your illness. I hope the treatments are going well.

New guy here reading this thread in entirety! My module is an '02 but appears identical to yours. I have front/rear lightbars to remove. I was planning to cut down the center hump like you did, but if I had the bolt location dimensions, I could just holesaw around the bolt heads.

Is there any way you could provide the center-to-center bolt locations? I would do some "investigative" drilling to find the exact center of the bolt heads.

Either way, you have been a great benefit to my project.

If your lightbars are bolted directly to the ambulance body, you probably have either a Whelen 4000 or a Whelen 4500 lightbar. They use four sliding carriage bolts to fasten the bar to the body, so the bolts could be anywhere along the bar. Typically, they will be about 10-12" in from each end, and then about 16" out from the center.

When my front bar was removed, two ambulance electricians fought with it for most of a day -

It's fairly common for users to remove the guts and leave the bar housing, then install a wide LED floodlight in the housing instead of removing it.

Built my tire carrier out of 2 Nissan Pathfinder carriers, and beefed it up.

It is attached at 4 points (plus a load bearing perch), and really firm.

All in, $300.

Yeah, they are pretty rugged.

I made a template and used my big grinder to make them fit. It's doable!

Scored some 10' lengths of diamond plate for a good deal recently.
So, I decided to add some flip-up (rear hinged) shelves in one cabinet,
and a slide out drawer in another to hold my hitch receivers and some
recovery gear and whatnot...

I was wanting to get my spare on the back, and I have a pathfinder tire rack. Might need to borrow this idea.

AmboLander Update:
Finally did away with the main board and put in a couple of marine breaker panels, added a curtain blind thingy (Home Depot), a diesel heater, and most recently pulled my bench seats and built a Twin/Queen bed box with hinged flip overs. It is about 74'' long, and is quite comfy. Also built a DIY toilet that will slide away into that cabinet slider.
Inside the outer most box, I built it to house my laundry basket and three 7 gallon water jugs, to refill my 13 gallon reservoir and for just whatever....
From the rear inside door, I can access the cabinet storage that is behind the slider shelf. Maybe some extra food stuffs in the big plastic container? One can't have enough Spaghetti O's and jerky whilst out on a big trip somewhere's. Right?
And of course, my Predator 3500 Generator, or other gear, will tuck in there good next to my fishing poles....
I reckon the pics tell the story pretty well.
Next up is a Roof Top fan (MaxAir Deluxe?) and a driver side window where the clock currently resides.

Looking great! That divider at the front is pretty cool.

For sure, go with the Maxxair 7500, we'll worth the investment! I had lower model before and ended up upgrading down the road...
