Pretty easy decision here; Chris at UJOR has done an incredible job catering to the DIY guys with his install videos, etc. His support is the best in the industry as you've already seen.

Think about this; for all the time you've spent and would further spend researching and messing around with trying to make your own kit, you could have already installed the UJOR kit and be out enjoying the van and time with your grandkids.
Which is more valuable; time spent on the internet researching parts, or time spent with your family in your newly equipped van that will ride/handle better than most OEM pickup trucks?

I agree with most on here, I have built a lot of samurai's, a tube buggy, and Offroad trailers. Chris has done a ton of design working and tweeting the springs to ride just right. Everything is tucked up nice steering wise and I can drive at 80 one handed. The support from Chris is awesome. I hated bugging him about questions but would have saved me a lot of trouble if I had asked more. Still plenty of stuff you can make yourself for the van bumpers, sliders, etc

Well...without the ability to see or drive a UJOR van, I've decided to go 4 link and coils up front. Everyone I've spoke to with an F250 with coils and radius arms tells me that they're night and day different from the old leaf suspension. That being said....with all the raving testimonials about Chris's conversions I have no doubt that it must handle and ride acceptably.

When I did the solid axle swap with my son on his Isuzu trooper (he was only 16) he was adamant about going with coils. He was designing more of a rock crawler though, lol! Anyway my son Alex was murdered in 2008 and I still have his Trooper....I'm raising his two boys, and I guess in a way I'm doing the van project for them (and my son). If he was here he'd be screaming, "articulation Dad!!!". Anyway, I will start a build thread when I get going (after the holidays) I just put my 2002 Dana 60 up for sale and will be picking up a 2006 axle next week.

Good choice! If I would've thought about my project a little bit more, I would've done coil springs... I thought I was saving time by going the leaf spring route, but now that it's 2 months later and I'm just now getting the motor in, I could've done coils... lol

That's awesome that you took over dad-duty for the boys, make your son proud and build the hell out of that van!

I'm very sorry to hear about your son Alex. I bet he's smiling about this project though. :safari-rig:

Yes...sports, boy scouts and school all over again X2!! The boys love cars, trucks, anything mechanical...I plan to have them very involved in this project. The 10 year old has been asking me to teach him to weld for the past couple of years, lol!

Thanks for the condolences...I'm sure he is smiling, but I really need him here to help! Alex was a brilliant kid that actually designed all the parts for his Trooper project. Dad had very little input (what did I know anyway) he just had me do all the welding (or as I later read on a pirate4X4 post he had made, I did most of the welding, lol)
