Baja 500 Pit Crew: Sign-up! (June 1-3/07)

I've actually been working for the last couple weeks (almost forgot what it felt like), so I haven't been following this thread. So whats the word? Is anyone going down just to hang out? If so, where? When? Any idea on where the pits are going to be yet?

The Score International Racing map is ready to be downloaded!

You may see were the pit marks are going to be, I have not decided were I am going to be , maybe Pit#1 or Pit#3 unsure, however I will be there on friday night or early saturday morning!

Oh! I will take lot's of pictures...

We are working on the course map today, to get a general idea where the pits will be. Of course, all the other teams will be doing the same, so the pits could move slightly within an area.

For coms. we will be using Sat. phones and 2m (146.460). We will call back to the pit chiefs with the exact coordinates and instructions.

I am going to CA early next week to work on and test the race truck, then we will cross the border on the 30th (pretty early) to go settle in pit #3 first and then pit #2 (main center pit and drivers change). We will call back coordinates to the pit #1 Chief (Brian).

We will also have a house south of Ensenada.

More details in hours.

Looking forward to getting the assignments and coming up with our gameplan!

All I ask for are some coordinates of where you want us and what time you want us there and we will take care of the rest. :)

Sounds great Scott. Bet ya'll are getting pretty ansy by this point.

Where do you think you'll have the pit crews at while waiting to hear further instruction?

I am trying to secure a place at Mike's Ranch, how difficult would it be to get to Pit#2 from there, and do you expect alot of traffic on the trail that leads from hwy3 to Mike's Ranch on friday evening!

We are unsure of where exactly pit 2 will be! So the answer to that cannot be given! :)

Probably not, BUT you gotta wait up as ass crack dawn to get out of there. That area gets very congested during the race. Mikes is known to be rough on the race vehicles, so most teams have at least one pit crew in that area in case of repairs.

Thanks again to all that signed up for pit support.

The pit cheifs have all of the details and here is the info map. Contact your pit cheif to coordinate the border crossing, etc.

Thanks for the update Scott!

We (PIT 2) plan on meeting the folks at Pit 1 @ ass crack dawn Sat AM to see the first bikes, TT's and 1's come through and assist with their pit if they want/need us to.

Then once the FJ comes through, we are going to head to Pit #2 to setup shop and camp! :D

Thats our plan anyway!

Going to be a good time! :wings:

That sounds good. We were thinking of heading over to pit #2 after the FJ passes through pit 1.

BTW, the pit #1 guys are crossing into Baja on the 31st, in the AM.

Well Miles and I are headed down on Friday June 1st. Is anyone camping out on Friday. Looks like pit 1 will be down there. Brian if you are camping on Friday night do you know what time you would be at camp. I am guessing you will be setting up early at the Pit 1 site. Will anyone be going to the contingency. How about Saturday night who is camping and approxiametly where on the course. This could be a little to late but Scott do you need anything brought down. How about simple things that we might want to have on board just in case we find you out on the course. Wheel/tire size, oils, water. We are looking forward to seeing this great event. Make sure you smile as you go bye we hope to capture the moment.

Justin
