All of the components of the JKU slider window retrofit kit for the factory hardtop are ready for production. I haven't talked to the company about it since I released everything for production a few weeks ago so I don't know if they've placed production orders with the manufacturers of the components yet.

Back when I was molding the hardtop parts I made an extra pair of side panels for experimenting with different windows or cargo hatches. In these photos I'm testing the fit of a panel with a cargo door.
The cargo door can be installed with the hinge at the bottom to serve as a cargo hatch/tray table:
Or the hinge at the top "gull wing" style:
I'm trying to decide if the best way to use them is one of the ways pictured above, or maybe with a storage compartment inside. Here's a few photo-edit concepts...
This one's a tool board that goes between the roll bar and the hatch, so there's limited space between the board and the hatch.
A deeper compartment would have to have to be shaped to clear the roll bar, I could make a fiberglass compartment something like this:

See this would be sweet here with half doors and the retro fit kit on them. Take the uppers off and roll up the rear would look awesome. As always Jeff great work! I also saw a nice right up on you somewhere online about this here and they were referencing one of the other forums you post on.

Now if I had this, I'd fill the freezer with frozen deserts, and sit on the side of the hot dusty trail selling them. I bet that would pay for the top in no time!

I've been working on a few Safari Cab details - one of the things that isn't quite up to the quality of the rest of the project is the spare tire cover that I had the Safari logo heat-pressed onto. It's a Rugged Ridge cover, and the color is great, but the grain of the fabric was distorted by the pressing process because the fabric is heat sensitive. In some of the photos I've posted you can see the marks made by the heat press.
I've found a new fabric that I think will survive the heat pressing process and today I dropped off a sample at the sign shop for them to test. It passed my home iron test, and if it passes the test at the sign shop I'll order enough fabric to sew a new cover from scratch and I'll have the logo pressed onto it.
The new fabric is a nylon Cordura fabric; the color is "Coyote" and it's a very close match for Spice, here's a sample next to a color sample of the Spice paint:
Another detail I haven't show yet is the brackets that tie the roof rack to the roll bars. I hadn't painted them until today; tomorrow I'll bolt them back into place and post some photos of them installed. Painted:

Is that the same material you are going to make the soft sides with?
Looks like great quality!
Another possibility would to embroider in an UV stabilized thread. More money, and traps dust, but very classy when clean.
I had custom logos done for the headrests of another build at a place that does ball caps, jackets and such. Came out great, and the total was about $80-ish including the design costs.
