That's the same tank we have and that's exactly how ours works. Ok, perfect.. i was wondering if you guys had something that AT made to adapt it any differently. Works well just like that though.

Cool find, I am going to have to order one.
It takes to long to fill jugs from my kitchen faucet with a Pure filter on it, and I hate lugging all those small plastic (bad for land fills) water bottles you get at the grocery store.

Set a 5 gallon water jug on the picnic table, and that would be great for a weekend of water to drink.

This is great. Can anybody measure the dimension of the opening that slips over the opening on the AT tank. I am interested in using this in conjunction with my 7gal Reliance jugs that I keep behind the rear passenger fender. I have been looking for something easy that would allow me to roll down the rear window and fill up my Nalgeens, and this should work great! I was planning on having to make something similar to BajaTaco's setup.

Beau,

The measurements of my tank are: OD 2 1/4" ID 1 3/4.

It looks like the minimum size that the pump would fit is 1 1/2 ID.

Judging by your sig., we have something in common.

Great thanks! I will check it out and see if it will work. I could have used it this weekend. It is such a pain having to pull a jug out to fill up a Nalgeen.

NOTE: I just remembered that the newer BLACK poly tanks that AT uses may not work with this pump. Our poly tank is a older clear model with a smaller filler port. The newer style has a larger filler port and therefore the pump may all together just fall right through the opening. Maybe someone with a new style can chime in on the diameter of their filler port.

First off, big thanks to Ed for the help tracking this thing down.

So i've noticed that using the manual pump on the Adventure Trailer can really be really slow sometimes. Reliable as all heck, but slow and tiresome for a large pot.

I started figuring out what others have used. I wanted something easy and something that didn't need to be wired into the trailer and something that wasn't going to make me lose the manual pump. I wanted to keep the manual pump for back up.

Well i looked at DatkariEd's trailer and noticed that he has this little gizmo on his water tank and no manual pump. I PM'd him a few times, and found out what it was. With a little bit more research i found it out on the web. It was a (2) d-cell water pump made for the 5 gallon bottle drinking water. Pretty cool I thought because it was simple, cheap and easy to use. It fits right in the filler port on our Horizon and slides over the neck for a somewhat tight fit. When not in use or flying down fire roads it will be stored inside.

No more pumping to fill water buckets, pans washing dishes etc. For $12 you can't beat it.

Ordered it and 3 days later it was here.

I think for the price, i'll order a second one just in case!!

Anyways, nows there's information on Ed's top secret pump. Hope you guys find this info helpful.
Great find... I went to the site to order one but they sold out. I need this in 2 weeks. Can someone help me?

Thank you.

One of the reasons we stopped using this pump is that some pumps mysteriously turn themselves on and drain the water tank.

So if you are going to use this pump you may need to physically deactivate it if you are leaving camp.

Corey,
Wow, your reviews were very helpful. I am a member on YT too.

I just ordered one. I went to ebay site as posted by FLYFISHEXPERT (thank you). I don't have paypal acct so I called the phone number on the ebay site. The lady gave me her company "official" website. I went there and pay $6.95. NO shipping fee:wings: . The total charge to my cc was $6.95. There was a $9.95 shipping on ebay.

Hello Net, glad the reviews are of help.
I have the same review out on four forums including YotaTech ;)

It was exciting to get out and camp again after taking about a ten year break from it, and it was fun reviewing all of the stuff I bought this year.

That is a good price you got on the pump.
I really like it.
It was cool to watch the pot fill up for the coffee water in the morning.

Now if I can just get it to attach to the bottle right...
