I have been able to source these fairly easily. They are reproductions and cast aluminum. No relationship to this ebay seller who happens to have a similar co name.

It was a final challenge in the CT that year, recover the trucks on the other bank of the river. It wasn't the only time they used that scenario as a final challenge. I recall a d-90 taking the same plunge another year.
