Thanks, flightcancled. I don't seem to get many comments on my thread.
Just a note on the cruise install. It seems to work perfectly without any computer flashing or programming whatsoever. Just plug and play. This seems to be unusual from my research any comments?

I feel you on the thread comments. Sometimes I feel the same way. I can tell you that I researched as many threads as possible on here and sportmobileforum when I first got my van. I still do it off and on, but after awhile some builds start to morph together. Especially for those of us with white Econolines lol.

I hope to tackle the Cruise issue before too much longer. I have a '95 7.3 with no tilt or cruise. I have a '94 parts van with a straight 6, has cruise and tilt. I planned to swap the entire column and was not sure about cruise (wiring, control box, etc?) I know a guy who has a '95 7.3 Ambulance with cruise that I can pull some parts if needed, but I need to find out before he scraps it. Would like to know what you find out. If its truly plug and play that would be awesome, I know my power windows and locks on the fronts were. (I swapped doors.)

89srule, Not sure if the cruise from donor van you have will work on your 95 diesel. Reason I say this is because I know on 99-2003 PSD e350's (and maybe 97 & 98) diesels have fly by wire throttle and the gassers use cable throttle from my understanding. Not sure if this applies to the 95/96 years but I woould check into it. Im pretty dure the ambo with cruise would be your best bet tho. Here is a seller on ebay that also sells the cruise kit for diesels for the later 7.3 PSD vans. He may have something for your year if your other leads to cruise control dont work out.

Nice build FEDUPWBS! What kind of mileage are you getting with the 4.56 gearing?

Djbonsu, that is the guy I got my kit from on ebay all brand new ford parts and perfect service. The mileage is unknown at this time but it feels pretty bad, about 10 mpg. It sure hauls donkey with the mods/tuner/gears though. This weekend it's finally getting the cold air intake and battery moved since I finally found all the parts in storage.

Good to hear. I will probably grab one as well. Thank for the info!

I need to revive the cruise on my 94 7.3. Just don't seem to think about it till it's time for a road trip.

And, keep up the good thread work.... We're reading!

Ok, new info I have never seen. If you have a slider door you can't move the underhood battery to the frame on the pass side at least in the prepunched existing holes in the frame rail due to the lower sliding door channel track in the body. I had to make some standoff spacers to gain clearance for the parking brake cable on the driver side rail and move the second box to the driver side (as seen on another thread in this forum can't remember which). Not a big deal as I am rewiring the entire starting system for the addition of a cold air intake.
The only downside I can see to this is the cost of 2/0 fine strand welding lead and the sheer amount of time this project is taking, about 10 hours by completion (estimated).

Just got some goodies from WS. Got some new take out front carpet but it seems to be weatherstrip adhesive on it out of the box :(. image.jpg
Also a new battery box assembly because mine was missing the lid and the rear door carpet plate which was in perfect new condition with the plastic hardware :victory:
I will contact WS tomorrow and see what they say.

Did you finish the Quiet Ride install? Interested in your impression if it.
Not yet, I got sidetracked on the battery move. Only had one day off and 2/w shift hours change from 1/w due to annual training this week. Will hit it hard this weekend though. More pics to come.
Any tips on the quiet ride install? I have been putting in some additional butyl rubber I had laying around.
I am now on the lookout for some power doors and mirrors too. Don't remember if I mentioned it but I installed the new louvers and will post pics as soon as I get a few more extra long rivets.

I have always hated the lack of lighting in the cab of my van provided by the single bulb stock dome light. I saw these http://http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-FORD-SUPER-DUTY-TRUCK-SD-F250-F350-F450-F550-HEADLINER-INTERIOR-DOME-LIGHT-/320966037227?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item4abb110eeb
Available from WS they are for a truck but it looks close, so why not. Headliner is out anyway for the quiet ride install.

Turns out its a drop in install just reuse the van bucket (part behind the headliner, truck piece is different) gives you two map lights and one dome for $30, upgrade to some nice LED bulbs and it's almost too bright.

Finally got to the point where this is working. Still need to fab an air box, debating whether to use ABS or steel for its construction? Anybody know if a 6.0 (filler panel?) part that goes over the top of the grill and core support and radiator will work on the 7.3? I no longer need or want all the 7.3 intake ducting.
image.jpg

Also finished the louver install as the correct length rivets showed up. Fixed the delaminating hood layers with liberal amounts of gorilla glue.

Have looked high and low for an acceptable hood scoop or duct that has at least 12 sq inches of opening which is the inlet pipe opening area and will actually fit on the hood. Any suggestions?

Been sitting on the name since I got the van, I am making it official now it has been Christened "VANQUISHER". What do you guys think?

Look what showed up on a pallet Friday, these are super plush.

Spent today scratch building the air box for the cold air intake and it came out fantastic. Pictures tomorrow it's at the shop drying now.
Still searching for a workable scoop for the hood.

Those Sienna seats look nice! where are you going to install them? Also did you have to move the battery under the hood to CAI mod? Any noticeable gains from this mod?
