Yup, looks like you need to match up those fittings with a couple of male ends, one leading out to the pump and the other to the shower head. Theoretically there is a cold input and a hot output, given yours are not marked you may just have to do some experimenting. I've got the 12V shower kits loose if your interested. LMK

Kurt,

I'm going to call you in a bit to place this order. Thanks!

Has anyone used the ecotmep gas powered showers ? I am looking for a setup for my trailer based camp setup. I have send mail to ecotemp to confirm gas pressure is ok for Norway. Looking at the L5 tankless system.

Thnx

Just got a zodi extreme and retrofitted a sink sprayer. Used it for the first time this weekend out camping in George Washington National Forest in VA/WV. Super easy to use in combination with a port-a-privy. The zodi was great as well for washing dishes and other camp stuff before loading back into/onto the truck.

I got just the tankless unit (much like a home tankless) and an rv pump

Triton Water Heater. -snip- ShurFlo pump

I have the tankless Eccotemp L5 with a Shurflo pump as well and it works great. Used it for a week trip last summer and it didnt even use a whole $2.50 propane bottle. A nice shower for two people can be had with 5 gallons easily. Heats up great and you can "preheat" your water if you use a bucket and recirculate it for a couple minutes. Showered in 40* weather with less than 40*water and had to turn the heat down on it after a 3 minute preheat.... I have about $200 in my whole setup including the pump and misc electrical and plumbing parts.

Duckworks Garden Sprayer shower review

I just got a pretty cool shower for the FWC.

http://www.duckworks...hower/index.htm

It's a black plastic garden sprayer with a shower head attachment.

What I like about it:

- It has an on/off button on the shower attachment (grey color in the picture) - this can also be locked on for hands-free operation

- It's black, so you can solar heat the water more effectively

- The shower head doesn't have too many holes in it, so the water comes out with very good pressure while not emptying the tank too fast. It takes 4:30 to empty the tank if left on and kept at a good pressure.

- It's $35 ($50 shipped). I was looking at the Zodi Extreme, but since I already have a stove in the FWC, plus another propane stove/grill combo for outside (plus a backpacking stove), I didn't need yet another burner for the shower. Then it doesn't need to be steel - just heat some water and pour it in (or set it in the sun).

- The hose is long enough to set the tank on the ground and shower.

I haven't seen any issues with it so far. If you're not going to make your own, this is a good, inexpensive option.

I have the same duckworks $35 shower and it's perfect for the money. Probably one of the best portable/compact shower solutions out there. Simple and effective. Give both of us (lady and I) a good shower. It's just over 2 gallons.

It's shorter than a zodi which I like and the showerhead is better than the cheap stuff most companies use. The on/off is great too.

It is basically a black garden sprayer with a thumb control on the shower head handle. Heavy plastic, holds pressure longer than expected and it works.

Sandra and I had these custom made by the folks at RL Flowmaster. We developed the idea after boating and camping for years with cheap gravity fed solar showers. One day we thought, why not a pump-up shower? So we went to Home Depot and bought a hand held sprayer like you see on kitchen sinks and a pump-up type bug sprayer. The latter came with a misting head that is no good for showers, but the kitchen sprayer had a spring loaded valve and the perfect spray pattern. We then married the two together and found we had created the perfect solar shower.

After using this shower for a while we decided to approach some of the sprayer manufacturers about putting such an item on the market. In our research, we discovered that RL Flowmaster had a suitable shower head and black two gallon pump-up tanks but had not wed the two. In talking to them we found that they would be happy to do so for us in an exclusive deal. So you will find these amazing showers no where but here at Duckworks.

Jess, do you get hot flashes as you start and stop the Eccotemp?

I am looking for some good 3/8" ID quick disconnects for the hoses on my Helton pump/shower head. Any suggestions?

Thanks. Lots of choices. Any recommendations on specific ones? I am considering air hose quick disconnects I can get at ACE.

Air fitting generally are self sealing, not good if it leaves water trapped in the hoses for freezing in winter or going bad. Better to use connectors designed for plastic die moulding machines, these are designed for water cooling and will be full flow. You can also get them with or without self sealing on disconnect. I always used the ones without self sealing as we found that the little sealing balls used to get gummed up with gunk and reduce the flow on cooling dies... spilling chilled water on the floor also used to allow easy system flushing.

Look under the Hose Coupling, High Flow Coolant on the McMaster Carr site..... can't seem to get it to link to the page..... ?
