I'm partial to this one. The tour buses don't go there.

Well here is a couple from our lastest trip to a place called Cabin Lake (N49 57.758 W121 05.136). This had to be one of the most beautiful lakes that I have been to.

This was the view in the morning.

And a couple from another 4 day trip this year to China Head Mountian (N51 10.702 W122 37.071).

Our main camp in the morning on China Head

And the tent I use which has seen some extreme weather and never let me down.

Here you go thought you guys might like these. this is about as far from civilization as you can get in North America, Noatak River, Alaska. It took me and my dad 13 days to go 360 river miles. Absolutely great trip.

Very first camp on the river

Camping out on the tundra, we actually saw a wolf not too far from this spot. He sure didn't stick around for anything.

I found Cabin Lake on the Mussio maps. It's in the uplands between Bostom Bar on the Fraser and Meritt. I assume you get there via the Petit Creek FSR out of Merrit?

I've spent a night at private campground on the Fraser near Boston Bar, and also at a FS rec site off of 97C near Merrit - that was in open grass lands. Also Otter Lake PP to the south, Logan Lake town park to the north, and Manning PP further south.

Hi! This seems like a decent place to introduce myself. My wife and I have a 2004 Sportsmobile, built on a Ford E-series van, with the gas V-10 engine, and a Sportsmobile 4x4 conversion & pop-top.

We love camping in the middle of nowhere, and avoid official campgrounds. I'm especially fond of deserts.

Welcome to the board! I don't know where I got it, but I saved a copy of this pic to my computer in 2006. The pic was modified and looked to be two pics linked together, though.

Nice van

We started coming off of the Coquihalla at the Juliet turn off exit 240 and headed past Murry lake going north on the Murry Lake FSR. We then turned northwest on a unnamed spur road and up Petit Creek FSR to Cabin Lake. On the way out we took Petit Creek FSR to the Spius FSR and over to Uztilius FSR and finally to the Anderson Main FSR into Boston Bar. We could have gotten there from Merritt but, we try to take as many non paved roads as we can which adds to the adventure.

I'm in Seattle, WA. (I've updated my profile now.)

This photo is from Punta Las Pilitas (Baja California Mexico), about as far north as you can go on the peninsula north of La Paz.

This photo is from our van's 2nd day, testing it out camping at the top of Bald Mountain, by Shaver Lake (CA) -- a few hours northeast of the Sportsmobile factory in Fresno, CA. We had some crazy weather at sunset, with huge dark thunderstorm clouds rolling in opposite the sun.
