These photos are from our trip up to Calispel Peak, in remote northeastern Washington. The peak is about 6800 feet, and the campsite was just down the ridge from the peak. We had great views of the Pend Oreille river valley to the east.

Thank you! I'm still working on building the FJ into a self-supported overland rig but then again, who is ever completely happy with their build? ;-)
True, I only (famous last words) have a rear bumper to do, but have not decided yet which brand.

How is your handling with the Maggiolina on the stock rack?
I ran mine for two years that way, and I got blown all over the freeway with any wind over 15 MPH.

Have had mine on a BajaRack built for the Maggiolinas, and it lowered the tent about 2", and it handles much better now.

The FJ definitely gets blown around in the wind more with this set up but it hasn't been too bad or dangerous. I was more worried about it getting tippy while 4 wheeling and I haven't really noticed that at all. I'd like to install a Front Runner rack, which would lower it a couple inches, but I've got a fridge/freezer, dual battery set-up, auxiliary lighting, Goal Zero and on and on to purchase/install before I worry about the rack!
