CAPE YORK IN A CANTER

How good does it feel to fix something?

Now im not that mechanical or electrical/technical. Give me a garden to design and build or a hole to dig on an excavator, and I'll get it done. but yesterday i had my first problem with the canter. The cigarette lighter wasnt charging my ipad. I checked the fuse, it was broken, i replaced it. and now i'm feeling pretty chuffed!

its the small things...

So when i see what all you guys are building with your trucks, especially Allans complete build, theres a lot of respect from here. Thanks for everyones helpful information!

Good luck Ben. You know what they say "one small step for a landscaper....". There is certainly a huge wealth of knowledge from the members of this forum, and as for Alans build, its

speaking of GVM upgrades, we just upgraded a toyota landcruiser from 3300kgs to 3670kgs the suspension kit cost $2500 and $380 for the engineer to write out the paperwork and print a sticker for it.

My God, I feel fortunate that we don't have all the inspection and engineering requirements that you have down under. We get along just fine without them. Of course, our local Skagit River Bridge did collapse last week when a truck nicked it with his trailer.

I recon the biggest downside to 6000t upgrade is the slog for rego $1800 and tolls $12.50 one way and tow a trailer $25 over the

Another problem at the uprated weight is you have to get a machinery in Qld. for rego every year and if you happen to be out of state you will have to bring it back. Years ago I had a F350 when we were fruit picking in Victoria and rego was due they wouldn't take an out of state machinery so I could pay the rego. PROBLEM! So derated and travel lighter is my way. It's a long way from WA. just to get a machinery when we finally get to travel that far.

Does anyone know for sure which Australian States or Territories do not require an annual machinery for a 6.0 or 6.5 ton GVM truck?
Thanks
