Cheap Fridge <$400 shipped

who broke the handle on theirs?

i broke mine getting it out of the box... lol.

hasnt mattered yet since all plans to do expo type trips has been put on hold due to job layoff... :(

My handle isn't broken but the spring inside it is. It doesn't bother me though. I do need to make some better tie down points though.

Just got off the phone with EdgeStar. They stated that although the cord is considered a "Consumable Item" and not covered under warranty they will replace it "Once". Sounds fair to me.....they are shipping me a new one. :)

Do you think a heavy gauge wire that is running my compressor in the back of the jeep would be enough to run this fridge?

I've got a 30amp inline fuse near the battery, and could simply run the power cable to a Blue Sea or similar fuse box, that would power both the compressor and the fridge via a 12v twistlock outlet.

This is exactly what I was going to do and I chickened out at the last moment. $10 in wire and I feel much better having it run straight off of the battery.

This fridges use almost no power compared to most accessors. It would be no problem run off the compressor wire.

I plan on buying one soon, I think the best bet would be to buy these connectors.

Run a hard wire to where your fridge will be used and put one of these on the end. Simple 18/16ga wire would be more then enough to go from battery to back of vehicle. Then get a new wire to plug into the fridge and cut the end off and solder the other connector onto the fridge wire. So when the fridge is in the vehicle it will always have a solid connector.

I suspect it has already been posted but I don't have the courage to go through all the 70 pages right now...

The same fridge is available on Living Direct for $420 with free shipping.

Yes but the websites are different. Looked yesterday, ca is offering a 15% discount. The living direct website was offering a 20% discount. Weird.

Good marketing. Why do you think there is always a Olive Garden across from a Red Lobster? They are owned by the same people so when one is full on a busy night they loose business to the competition who just so happens to be themselves.

the 43qt is also still available through the compactappliance ebay listing for 429 with free shipping.

Been running mine empty and notice about a four degree swing in temps. Is that normal? Change if its fully loaded?
