Few options, Kabuta, Land Rover TDI, or Mercedes off top my head for mechanical diesels

Yup...hence the interest in the Kabuta threads. I have an 01 Cherokee we are thinking about using as the test mule.

Update from past few days:

On YJ got most electrical bugs sorted out, replace + leads from battery to starter & power distribution box. They looked ok but one going to power box was intermittent.

ARB, winch w/wireless remote, stereo, CB & interior lights working again. Still need to fix rock lights & PIAA's.

Stripped rear of carpet (black mold spots) rear seat/belts, have tuffy style lock box going in.

Will remove all carpet & may Linex interior of tub also looking at removing center console and seats then replace with low back bench seat.
