Let's see some pics from the listing AT LEAST. Right click, save, post here...

I love how you answer all of the questions/requests but mine. :) I was saying to post the Defender pics from the ad you bought the truck from.

You should really see if you can delete all of the non-useful pics in your Range Rover Classic eBay ad (like pics of the exterior of the truck in 20 different locations) and only include maybe 5 exterior shots, add 5 interior shots, and the rest for under the hood and rust-prone spots. Good to see you finally listed it though. Does it include everything like the Roof Top Tent, etc.?

Sweet deal. Please keep us updated as to the federalization process and paperwork you need to complete. I have been thinking about importing a 110 or 130.

Sounds like a great deal on shipping considering it will cost you $1k just to ship a truck cross-country. Did you have someone do a thorough inspection before you bought it?

Ah, he seems to have gone missing again.

So does the winning bid include everything like the roof top tent, etc.?

Curious how it will be registered in CA as its a diesel post 1975 and will be subject to smog. Planning on changing out the engine?

Is that specific to CA? The diesel after 75 rule? I just got an '84 110 with a 300Tdi, current reg in OR but was planning on registering it here in Los Angeles, do you think that'd be a problem. I don't think this truck would pass smog.

Sorry to hijack the thread. Congratulations on your new purchase Eric, looking very forward to seeing pictures and progress on the restoration.

Diesels need to be smogged only if the vehicle is 1997 or newer.

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/vr/smogfaq.htm

Currently, smog inspections are required for all vehicles except diesel powered vehicles 1997 year model and older or with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVWR) of more than 14,000 lbs, electric, natural gas powered vehicles over 14,000 lbs, hybrids, motorcycles, trailers, or gasoline powered vehicles 1975 and older.

NOTE: Upon initial registration, nonresident, diesel powered vehicles 1998 model year and newer with a (GVWR) rating of no more than 14,000 lbs, and specially constructed vehicles 1976 and newer require smog certification. The six or less model years old rule does not apply to these vehicles.

I would like to know how it all works out for you. Keep us posted. I was trying to bring one back about that same year, last year when I was in europe and found nothing but headaches bringing it into CA. I have family in the U.K. and would still love to bring one in.

Thanks
