Discovery 3 (LR3) and Discovery 4 (LR4) Registry

Picked up a 2011 HSE Ipanema Sand LR4 a few weeks ago. Well cared for with regular 5k oil changes at 95k (I had been looking for a while and so many had 20k plus holes in their service histories). So when I found this one I jumped! It’s in great shape, happy to be back in a Rover (had a 2004 D2 that I’ve always missed). Love the power of this 5.0, it’s silly quick for an SUV this size especially compared to my 2004 LX I just sold. Working on baselining, picked up a GAP IID, added LR factory mats, pulled the K&N Filter and completed my first oil change ever with a vacuum pump and using factory spec oil. On the list for TuffAnt steelies, ordered the Gobi Stealth rack, and drawing up plans for drawers.

I don't know why I only think to check back in here every so often. Still have this one. Still hasn't let me down one single time, and she's rocking a solid 170k on odometer.

Up to 134k on this thing now. Still running like champ. Just added some stock sized Continental TerrainContact A/T's (not pictured) and I'm pretty happy so far.View attachment 451541

Finally, finally I have managed to get my maintenance stuff for the lr4 up on YouTube. I’m working through all the usual failure points of the vehicle and the arduous usage servicing of my landy. That together with some upgrades should make for a good resource for the community.

Have a look and don’t roast me too much, I’ve never done any video stuff before.

Hi everyone. First-time poster here so introducing myself and rig. I picked up a 2012 Firenze Red LR4 w/HD and 87,000 miles last April. Bought it from Land Rover Denver and trucked her back to Napa. So far everything is going well, but not enough time out exploring! Hope to change that beginning now because it's fall. Looking forward to becoming part of the community.

Picked up my Nara Bronze '13 LR4 Lux w/HD package last week. Doing a bunch of preventative maintenence on it at the moment, but have some 255/60/19 Toyo Open Country AT3 tires, GAP IID tool, and recovery gear on the way. Won't be doing anything too crazy this year until I know everything is sorted and I trust it for the long stuff.

I am. Have the boxes done, but not the drawers yet. I’ve been getting a house ready for sale, buying a new house, moving etc.. but we did have time to camp in Montana this summer.

- 2016 LR4 HD (82K miles)

We recently picked up a 2011 LR4. After having a Wrangler and a 2019 4Runner my wife wanted a Land Rover. Honestly we bought the LR4 simply because it had character. So far we like it better than the 4Runner and it was a quarter of the price. So far a set of Falcon Wild Peak 19" tires are all I have bought for it. Over the past two weeks we have explored Buffalo Mountain and Holston Mountain in NE TN and have been pleased with the off-road capabilities. We plan to leave tomorrow for 3-4 days of camping and exploring. The list of planned mods is vary short since we will likely be trading back to a JLUR in the next year.

My 2006 LR3. Picked it up at a nice price at 130K miles. Knowing I had a lot of suspension and chassis work to do. But my intention was to build a dedicated Overland traveler. Took longer than I had hoped but was able to do a month-long test run with it in late fall 2021.

Wow, that’s a great looking set-up! I have been slowly doing the same with my ‘12 LR4. Is that a RTT on top and do you take that off and on (easily)?

You’ve put a lot into that LR3 and it looks great. I have an iKamper rtt on my LR4 and it has lived up there full time because if the challenges of easy removal. Planning on a ceiling lift in the new garage to help with this but that’ll be a few months away. It makes for a very tall vehicle in the meantime.
