Very cool design Doc, and seems like you really thought this one out.
Now, with the new rear end, you shouldn't have any trips cut short for any reason.

Thanks! Lets hope the new R&P is up to the task ahead... Looks to be a good year for Expeditions!

Cellcup Cell Phone Holder

This came from Performance Products Toyota catalog, I needed a way to keep the phone handy while being charged and protected.

CB Mic Mounting

When I mounted the Cobra I was going to do a regular mic mount but after a while of having it in this cubby I've decided I like this setup.

Eezi-Awn Travel Cover Mod

Mongo managed to pull off one of these straps that secure the travel cover to the floor of the tent so I decided to make it more skookum. They are originally mounted with small, shallow screws which may be OK for most... These bolts through the floor should keep me from pulling them off!

Dave have you tested the reception of your GPS while moving, or on cloudy days? I originally had mine mounted very similar to yours, almost the same location really, I found that without a remote antenna I would loose reception rather easily while moving. I have since moved mine to the dash where I get much stronger signal strength and haven't experienced the intermittent signal loss like I did with it mounted down by the shifter.
Like so:

So far no reception problems in this position... I could always mount it higher if that becomes an issue. We have been getting super reception in the cab just holding the GPS in our laps so this should work out.

Do you find it hard to drive and nag. at the same time with your mount locat?

No problems with mine! In the future, I'm going to do a hard mount to the A frame...or do a mount where it is now....
