That's one thing I did not even think of. Would there be a way to work that into the Chaser?

Probably not.

The way to go would be to sell the bed, toolbox, rack and bumper as a set :)

That would just about cover the conversion, give or take a couple bills.

I say go for it if you think the chaser would provide you with added utility/functionality.

One question, do they even make a conversion for the 05+ Tacoma? I only saw a conversion package for the 96-04 standard and extended cabs? Guinea pig?

I just noticed Adventure Trailers builds the prementioned Chaser, aka TacoChaser.

That Campa trailer is pretty cool. Compared to some other trailer pricing I'd imagine the Campa runs at least 10k. Anybody have actual pricing?

Whats the advantages/disadvantages between a popup tent (eg: Maggiolina) and a fold out (eg: Overcamp, Oasis, Eezi-Awn)? It seems like the fold outs are the preferred choice.

They want around $60,000 for the complete Tacoma EV so figure a loaded Tacoma at around 30k and the rest of the price is the cost of the module... so about 30k for the back half of the vehicle.

Campa makes great stuff, but they are at the high end of the pricing spectrum IMO.

In comparison, the Chaser base module for the 04 and previous Tacoma starts at $4,000 from Adventure Trailers.

The price went up last month about 15%. You are now looking at just shy of $4600 for the base unit.:(

I love the Taco Chaser conversion, but I love the utility of my truck a bit more.

There are certainly lots to think about when thinking about doing a conversion like this.

Yikes!

Would it be possible to take the rack you have now and just add to it?

Theres a company called 80/20 that makes some pretty cool erector parts, the engineers at work have used it a lot to create machine frames and other stuff. Not that Id try using it to build a trailer frame or for other things that should be welded steel, but I think it would be very useful in other assemblies. Being aluminum its fairly lightweight, and there are hinges, pivots, tray sliders, panels, etc. I'm planning on building a sectional box for my truck that will be waterproof (since the Retrax cover isnt), and light enough so I can remove it myself without it being too awkward.
