Dont Call it a Build Thread

When I did my rear shock towers I noticed my rear pads were running pretty thin, by the time I was able to get the pads and then install them I think I was one day too late, one bad rotor, no one in town had rotors so I took them in to get turned and put it back together.

Tonight I did an sp3 flush, and man, I know everyone on here said it would make a difference, but I had no idea! I didn't even think the damn thing was shifting hard in any fashion before, and I could INSTANTLY tell a difference in how it shifted. It also, for the moment, seems to have resolved my staying in OD issue. Definitely makes me wish I would have gotten to it sooner!

glad to hear about the flush results.

you didn't "completely ruin your transmission" as so many people insist will happen. if I ever mention.doing it on the Montero facebook page, I get many people implying that I am.stupid for planning to.do so.

Well I won't lie, I worried that I was going to, it was all so simple I honestly thought I was doing it wrong and ****ed it all up haha

In other news I pulled the factory roof rails off and purchased the materials to build my "rack" so that's the next thing on the docket

My ADD springs showed up Wednesday so I finished off the lift today by installing those and giving the torsens a crank.

then I got started on my "rack" should be able to finish that up tomorrow.
At the end of the day I realized that I forgot to adjust my track bar after getting the springs in so I'll have to tend to that tomorrow as well.

Over the weekend a group of friends and I went on a 700 mile trip, mostly not paved roads. Blasted some dunes, some shaky climbs, 70 mph gravel roads, and nearly 100 on a dry lake bed. Was a great trip and deff a good test for all the new suspension stuff.
A couple pictures from the trip I currently have.

So I haven't done much but use the crap out of this thing of late.
I did build a fold down table for the rear door though.

I love the camping scene. Where was this ? I see mountains, beach and desert. I wanna do something like this also.

Nice.

So I was thinking about your former rig...how does the Montero work for you now, vs. Disco? Bet you don't miss it:coffeedrink:

If I ever was able to get into a Montero, it would be set up like this. Excellent looking truck! I've always had a soft spot for these.

Every picture was from a different trip. The post above my last one was all on the same trip though.

So far it's done me well, I have enjoyed the better mpgs, I haven't had a chance to really wheel it still though like I used to in the disco, but I have definitely already missed the lower gearing it had.

thank you, still a work in progress of course but it is heading in the right direction far as I can tell.

This past weekend was pretty cool
