How on god's green earth did I not hear about this 40 days ago when I upgraded to the regualar Droid......

Ugggg flippin Verizon..

That being said I played with the phone tonight and man-o-man is this thing awsome. Is it better than my Droid???? Maybe. The screen is beyond crazy clear and the speed is awsome.

Anybody else play with it yet???? Are you going to upgrade.

i was one of the geeks hanging outside the verizon store this morning. I have to say this thing is pretty slick.

It's doesn't sync with outlook nicely. That is my biggest problem but i will figure out a work around.

I have the first Moto Droid that came out, and now I hear it getting ready to pull from the market, as the Droid II is coming out in August later.
I will check it out this fall.

I have read about the X but have not played with one yet.
Very happy with my present Droid though.

If Verizon does not upgrade us to Froyo though (need that to run Flash) there will be some angry 1st gen Droid owners.

Word on the street is we (droid users) will get it by the end of July. I also read that Droid X users will get 2.2 after us. That seems odd since I assume the X comes with it so that the flash feature will work..?

A coworker said this morning he thinks the X has more processor speed than the upcoming Droid II also.
I think he said the latter has an 800 GHz CPU.

As long as we get 2.2 and Flash, I will be good for awhile.
I really like the Android interface better than any other smart phone out there.
Can not beat the Google Maps software either.

2.1 right now.
Have had two upgrades since November.

You are welcome.
I have learned quite a bit over there, and read on on what are the best free apps to get.
I have not paid for one app yet, but I may pull the trigger on the TapaTalk thing that lets you browse forums that have installed the plugin.

My coworker said either the Droid X or the Droid II has an HDMI output?
If so, that will be worth an upgrade later to hook it to the HD TV to view back videos.

One of my favorite apps is the My Tracks that lets you make a map of where you are/going, then you can upload it to your Google account and share it with others if they want to get directions to where you are camped.
Can not beat that for a free app.

Waiting on the Droid 2 to go back to Verizon from a G1 on Tmo.. November can't come soon enough!

Cyanogen just put up a 2.2 ROM for the G1 so I'll give that a go tonight. Nothing like having the original android phone with an OS newer than on most hardware (minus Flash). :sombrero:
