Today was a beautiful drive, accentuated by the stark transitions in fauna throughout the day. Once we left the coast, and reached Tepic, the terrain was stunning, clearly shifting towards sub-tropical. We came across our first volcano, and then the agave covered hillsides outside of Tequila. Unfortunately, the town of Tequila was just a bit of a disappointment, and most likely the reason very little tourist infrastructure exists here.
We have a great story of finding a place to spend the night, and just proves that a book should never be judged by its cover... :costumed-smiley-007
Oh, and we found a great little local bar, and just finished off a bottle of Arette anejo - perfecto...
