I was noticing when I saw the Top Gear episode it starred in. Am I the only one that sees an incredible resemblance to the Ford Edge?

new land rover vs jeep rubicon

LAND ROVER >> fully loaded price 70k+. 80% more plastic .much less offroad capable. not reliable, fastest dropping in value car. very expensive to maintain . very limited accessory to be outfitted (24 inch rims dont count) girls love it. :)

jeep Rubicon >> 37k fully loaded. front locker rear locker center locker, larger off road tires. better approach angle departure angle . more reliable , parts can be found in every part store in every remote location .
much cheaper to maintain . very fun to drive. keeps its value very well. has better fuel economy, come as convertible and hard top

and the best part,is service department manager of jeep doesn't not hide behind bullet proof glass, like land rovers do

if you are in the market of a new 4x4 then you be the judge why Rubicon is the way to go.
haha unless you are looking to buy an older real land rover

i love older land rovers they are the true 4x4s

Well, there are folks that say this truck will never see the market place, but someone sent me this today. I cannot imagine LR would invest this much time, energy and money into something simply to scrap it and walk away. I wish they would ... but hey, ... I represent the LR minority at this point:

Defender production continues until 2017, maybe longer

Land Rover management says changes to the current laws will allow them to keep today's Defender in production through 2017, maybe until 2020. It appears LR will receive partial temporary exemptions to emissions and pedestrian safety rules.

That's OK, but it also delays the arrival of the Defender's replacement in USA. Here's hoping LR uses the extra time to design a better model.

Wow how wrong can you be.
Well equipped Land Rover with center diff lock and rear locking diff, sat nav, very little plastic, height adjustable suspension, 4 wheel traction control, hill descent control, top 10 safest vehicles in America, outstanding resale value, 4 yr/ 50k warranty, all the off road accessories needed easily available, far better ride quality and handling= $54k not $70+

Jeep Rubicon- girls love it, ride sux, safety sux, reliability no better than LR4, fuel economy the same but from a weak 6 cylinder not a 5 liter 375 hp v8, low towing capacity, parts can be found thoughtout USA but not the rest of the world. yes it's cheaper, but that's because it's cheaper.

You sir - need to do more homework. There are not many on these boards that have owned and driven the range of Land Rovers Dale and I have-
There is a real reason why Dale and I both have JKU's now. And the only thing cheap about the ... is the price. (comparatively speaking).

The only way you can pay $70,000 for an LR4 is if you tip the salesman $10k. The MSRP maxes out at $59k (HSE LUX w/special paint & every option) and only in the major SUV markets will a dealer try to get near that.

When I was shopping for LR3s the dealer could've had me out the door at $48k in a nicely loaded '11 LR4 (without the silly options i.e. rear DVD etc.).

Comparing an LR4 to a JKU is pretty apple-orangey anyway.
