Two questions if I may:

Where/how are you installing the Yellowbox? I followed the writeup on the MUD homepage (http://www.ih8mud.com/product_reviews/fzj80-yellowbox.php) and installed mine behind the glovebox, but I suspect it is interfering with the cruise control holding a steady speed. I'd be interested to hear if you are doing something different.

What type of carpet and adhesive did you use inside the tailgate? It looks great.

Im installing the yellow box the same place, same way never had an issue with the cruise control using that write up tho.

I used 3M's super 77 spray good stuff it holds well but if the carpet ever gets nasty and need to be replaced it will still peel off with out damaging the dyna-mat

The carped is actually replacement car carpet from wall-mart:victory: cheep and durable

A Resurrection if i may!

Between moving to upstate NY and work life has been a little crazy lately so i haven't been posting much so I thought i do a little up date on this 80.

About a month ago I jumped in to the 80 to move it, problem was that it seemed hard to start and as soon as it started i got a nice big plum of antifreeze smelling smoke billowing out of the tail pipe...NICE head gasket time!

A week later i pulled the Engine and striped it to the block to find the fire ring on #6 cylinder head gasket deformed, go figure

A quick call to the machine shop and the block, head, intakes, upper pan were place in the back of the other 80 and shipped out.

received ever thing back from the machine shop.
here is a list of the things that was done

washed and glass beaded:
valve cover, both upper and lower intake manifolds, timing chain cover, upper oil pan, throttle body, and head

glass beads were flowed threw both intake manifolds to make a smooth surface for better flow
intakes were also port matched for better flow

head:
ported and polished for better flow
cleaned
valve grind and seats
resurfaces .004
valves re adjusted

Amazing since it has 150k miles on it. when i redid my wifes engine it was very close to this except it had 230k on it. I just love Japanese engineering!

oil pump reassembled with cover using torque screws
