For location reference picture was taken from directly below where the spare would normally site and that is the rubber bumper for the spare tire. Some sort of air / vacuum lines connected to it.

Hey everyone sorry for the long gap in update! Ive been working on some exciting projects here for Expedition Portal as well as traveling a lot. Here's an update of what's new!
Since the last picture I've installed a new Eezi-Awn bag awning from Equipt Outfitters. I had never given much thought to awnings until spending a few days on the road. Holy cow is it nice to be able to escape the sun! Even on short afternoon trips the ability to pop up the awning and enjoy lunch in the shade is fantastic.
My thoughts -
Looks: Overall I think the awning looks great on the truck. The black blends nicely with the rack and the rest of the car making it look subtle and understated while still adding an expedition feel to the vehicle. I think it also helps that its a different color than almost all roof tents so if you have one it doesn't blend together to look like a big blob.
Feel/Quality: I'm very happy with the quality of the awning. Its a thick canvas material that feels heavy duty but doesn't weigh a ton. its easy to deploy and seems very appropriate for an Eezi-awn product.
Functionality: Obviously it works great creating shade. It's easy to deploy and easy to retract. The only thing I discovered is that you really need to watch the legs when deploying them. Due to my ignorance having never set up an awning before I just popped it out and allowed it to slam my vehicle. If you've never set up an awning before do it with a helper the first time till you understand how it works. Otherwise you'll be frustrated
Price: This is a huge winner for me. Not only is the awning a great product but its really affordable! For under $300 you get a heck of an awning that in my opinion will give any of its competitors a run for their money. Im not an awning expert but I'm very pleased with the product especially at the price point.
Oh and its dog approved!

looks good Chris! I ordered that same awning from Equipt on Monday and it came in the mail today. Hopefully I'll be testing it out near the Sand Dunes National Park this weekend.

I ended buying this dog guard and knifed the mat and it fits and looks great. Thanks for the link. Shipping was only $60, so it ended up being much cheaper than getting one from the UK.

No, the factory LR 18" wheels off the LR3 will not clear the front Brembo calipers of the 2006-2009 Sport Supercharged, unfortunately. The Compomotive PD1880s - I think they have a new model # PD1881 as of early this year - will fit however (you may need to flip around the anti-resonate weights found on the Brembos to get them to fit.) I doubt even the 18" Compos would clear the larger brakes of the MY2010-13 5.0L Supercharged though - although I am not 100% sure if anyone has tried that combination yet.
As far as tire size, I ran 285/60R18 A/Ts on my non-lifted 2006 Sport HSE for years, with very negligible rubbing only experienced under full compression or steering lock, which would kinda disappear on its own as the tires wore off slightly after a few thousand miles. That's as large as you can safely go without and modifications / lifts. A matching spare of that size will fit under the car, but only if partially deflated - and you may need to get rid of the heat shield between exhaust and spare tire to winch it up without issues. It will be a tight fit.
Here are the Compos mounted on a pre-2010 Supercharged with 265/65R18 BFGs (they will also fit without mods and with only minor rubbing, but you will have to store the spare elsewhere, no way to squeeze it under the car):
