Thanks. First off I havent done any big trips lately with the new setup but I dont think the fittings will have any problem being there, they look like they are right behind the tire but they are actually out of the path of the tire. If all else fails Ill throw some rubber covers over them to keep the elements out.

I love that fuse box I like how you made a platform for yours it looks very clean. Mine is kind of a pain when I want to add more to it I have to unscrew the block from the firewall and pull it up orelse I cant access the bottom row of the block to connect more wires.

The guage worked out perfect in that location. I dont have to move at all to see it. The key to having it work perfect is drill the hole for the hose directly underneath where the hose connects to the guage as there isnt very much room for the hose to bend if it offset.

I stuck with the viair pressure switch due to the user friendly wiring on it. I see your point on the threads being the only support but we will have to see if it causes any problems. Its not very heavy so I think it will be fine. On the other side I have a 1/4inch regulator that you can dial down just as you would on any other compressor. The regulator feeds directly into an air filter and then goes into a T the T splits two hoses that go to some QD mounts that I made out of angle iron. You can see them in the picture just below the pressure guage picture. I have a 50foot coiled hose that I can run from the QD's all the way up to the front tires no problem.

Any time you wanna check it out let me know I work a firefighters schedule so I only work 12 days a month. Let me know if you have any more questions on the install.

Stump how the heck did you bend that part of the airbag? I ended up buying grade 8 bolts and using all four holes. It was prob over kill but i figured what the hell. I love those switches they have them pretty cheap at radioshack. I saw them at autozone and they wanted 4 bucks a piece!

Where on Palomar Mtn was this? I've been thinking that a quick trip for us folk in No Cnty would be to drive up Nate Harrison Grade. Did that quite a few years ago...

OUCH! That left a mark - luckily no one was injured? Not that you need anyone telling you (especially now) to use tow straps... :D

Anyway, nice pictures - looks like it was a fun time (for the most part)

Out of curriosity, what size/type of chain were you using? I'm not trying to poke fun at you. I like recovery puzzles, and am always trying to learn so if you could pass on a bit more information to the rest of us it could help prevent future problems. Darn lucky no one was hurt.

Wow, glad everybody is okay.

Good reason to use a tow strap.

Did the lights and grill get hit as well? Or did it whip high enough that it just got the windshield.

This was a side trail off of nate harrison grade, we offroaded a little parked and hiked down to the river.

Im not sure exactly what size chain it was but I was climbing the hill that I have pictures of me going down and I couldnt quite get up the last part so I hooked up to the h3. There was a splice in the chain that I did not notice before and that is what failed. It actually didnt whip but just kind of tossed up in the air and fell down onto my hood and window. No real damage to anything but the window. I have used those chains a hundred times Im suprised they didnt fail a long time ago but lesson learned, I just went out the other day and bought 2 20' tow straps and would tell anyone that thinks of using chains out there that they should think again.

Truck is running strong have been going everywhere in it, recently got a kayak and have been kayak fishing catching my fair share of calico and spotted bass occasionally a few halibut. When I get out of the water I barbecue them up and spend the night in the truck.
Monache meadows is coming up in June and a trip to big bear will be soon as well.
I am still looking for some bumpers. Got the rear bumper narrowed down to Oldsven's rear bumper, which requires me to move my winch, so my front bumper will have to be a winch mount bumper, however arb will not work due to the flared fenders not matching the bumper. So i think a good tube bumper with a winch mount would be perfect. If anyone has got an example of that I would appreciate it.

Another update, just finished "shannon's snorkel mod" on the tacoma ill take some pictures tomorrow when it is light out but it turned out pretty damn good. I modified the design a little bit which I will explain better with the pictures but it involved taking off the stock tacoma tube located under the passenger side fender, mounting a 3" to 2" rubber reducer to 2" pvc tubing that runs back into my engine compartment and comes out of the hood into a 4" to 2" reducer with a 4" cap on top. Instead of drilling holes in the reducer like a few other shannon mods I took a dremel and filed out everything but the 6 or so bracers that are in the reducer so as not to restrict the air flow.
I drove it around the street and went for a run down the freeway and did not notice any power or performance loss. The whole reason for this mod in case someone was wondering was not for the forging of rivers or concern that i might get water in my intake, it was more concerning the amount of dirt that i was pulling out of my air box after every trip i took. Daily driving was requiring me to clean my air filter every 2 weeks :(.
