Gladiator Pop-Up Pass Through Camper Build

I think I need a bigger truck!
Well, looks like my camper's little water pump gave out. I didn't winterize it, and it shot craps.

It runs off my power supply and has a built in pressure switch, so all you do is turn on the faucet and the pump kicks in. It's really simple and nice.

I'm looking for any tricks to use this in the winter. Is there some way I can plumb it or a simple/fast way to winterize it, so I can still use the water pump in the winter? I park my truck outside, so any water in the pump will freeze and damage it.
I use RV Antifreeze in mine... I have the same pump. I really need to add a feed tube with a diverter valve so I can pull from the tank or from the jug og AF... but other than that it is as simple as feeding it AF and pumping the lines through. THe nice part about a simple smaller setup like ours, you use very little AF to protect it. In the spring, you simply flush the lines with fresh potable water and then clean your tank as normal and you are GTG!

I used to do this for all of our travel trailers too every winter. Easy to do and worked every time. You probably know this, but those pumps are available on Amazon cheap. Also like that they are adjustable too.

Thanks I installed the new pump and all is good, until this winter. I like the idea of adding a diverter valve in front of the pump. Since it is so small, I would only need a small water bottle sized tank for the antifreeze. Flip the diverter switch, run my pump for 5 seconds, would be all I need. Then when I want water, flip the switch and pump fresh water through.

Thanks.

Totally agree on the tiny amount of AF needed in a smaller setup. I used to have a 23' travel trailer with a full bathroom (shower, toilet, sink) and a large 60 gal fresh and 3 x 30 gal grey/black tanks. I used to use about 1.5 gal to purge all the lines. The low point drains helped, but there still was a lot of pipe to protect. The diverter valve was awesome to isolate the fresh intake from the AF intake tube.

Need to install a drain on mine in a bad way. Hard to purge and needed to put AF into the tank to feed it. I tilted the camper to the inlet so I only needed a little bit, but it took forever to flush the taste out of the tank this spring. lol

Fall project.
