The Cruz Tablet is an example of the new Android products we'll see before the end of the year. This $300 tablet has a 7 inch capacitive touch screen (capacitive = control with your finger, resistive = control with stylus or other solid object like a fingernail).

Some specs from http://www.cruzreader.com/tablet.php
7 inch 800x480 capacitive touchscreen
4 GB memory built in
ships with Android 2.1 OS
10 hour user replaceable battery
USB and SD card slots, 8 GB flash card included
802.11n WiFi, no 3G
maybe attach external GPS via USB?
Cruz Market as substitute for Google Market
no word on the processor used

The Cruz Tablet will ship sometime around the end of next month.

So you want to install Flash on the Droid?
It is still in beta, and not in the market yet, and you must have 2.2 installed.

Here is what you need to do, I just installed it 15 minutes ago, and now I can see other videos like from break.com and my Flash driven menu on my website.

First go here:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NT2ER7HX

You will also need to visit the Market and install a free file manager called Astro.
After Astro is installed, you can either go the URL above on your Droid and choose download file, or put the file on your PC into a folder called flash_beta or whatever you want to name it.
I choose to put it on the PC fist, but either way will work.

You will need to go to your settings on Droid under Applications and check the box called "Unknown Sources" if you put the file on via USB cable or if you download it from the URL above to your Droid.

If using the USB cable, move the folder from your PC to Droid, then unmount Droid, then fire up the Astro file manager.
Navigate to SD Card and look for the Flash folder.
Find the file in there and push on it, then choose "open app manager."
It will then allow you to install the file.

After it is installed, be sure to go back to the main settings under applications and clear the check mark for "Unknown Sources."

Now go test it out somewhere that uses Flash.

Got my 2.2 update today!:victory:

I have the phone tethered to the laptop, and am using the phones browser.

It's just as fast, maybe faster, than my high speed internet!:snorkel:

Might have to drop that also, along with my cable:Wow1:

Other things I've noticed, the camera layout is better, easier to navigate.

Well, that didn't last long:snorkel:

Tried using the phone tethered to my laptop today at my dads (no high speed internet)

All I got was the 'Verizon' screen, telling me I need to pay "$15 or $20" a month extra to use it:Wow1:

Oh well, the phone still works great!

I was out fishing yesterday, in my dads neighbors new boat. I needed to figure out his new depth finder, so I ggogled the user manual:coffeedrink:

I still can not get passed how dumb that is. Both ATT and Verizon are pulling that junk, I'm not sure about Sprint...

I sure am LOVING how tethering on the Nexus One through T-Mobile is FREE :wings:

This time it's Samsung that is tantalyzing us with pre-release sightings of its new Android tablet. The product is called the Galaxy Tab, but it may appear through USA cell phone providers with different names.

Specs look promising:
7 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display
1 Ghz ARM processor
Google Android 2.2
3.2MP webcam, probably 2048 x 1536
Swype keyboard application
320x240 (?) camera for video chat
802.11b/g/n WiFi and 3G
Assisted GPS <-------- note
Google Android Market access likely on 3G models

This page has a video of the new tablet. The 7 inch device sure is a handful when held in portrait orientation.

Got to do some apples to apples on my original Tmo G1 with Cyanogen 2.2 Froyo and a coworker's new Verizon D2 with factory 2.2

Man the D2 is fast! I had both loaded with nearly the same apps and the difference was dramatic. The original G1 with much less onboard memory and half the processor speed can run Froyo just fine, but with a large responsiveness hit. Granted Cyanogen is only on RC3 so it isn't a final/stable release.

Can't wait for the Star Wars themed R2D2 version of the Droid D2 is out at the end of Sept. My Tmo contract is up near then. :wings: There are some addl Verizon phones coming out in the fall including a dual radio (CDMA/GSM) phone that may make me give up a keyboard.
